Mocking The Mock A Look At The 2025 Nfl Draft Consensus
The 2025 NFL Draft buzz is building, and instead of diving into my own predictions, I decided to consult the oracle – the NFL Mock Draft Database. We’re taking a look at the 2025 NFL Draft Consensus, dissecting the community’s picks, and seeing where the hive mind lands on the first round. Let’s get into it. NOTE: This consensus was taken as of Monday, March 24th, 2025, and will be subject to change! The Supporting video for this article can be found over on our YouTube Channel! The Cam Ward to Tennessee hype is real.
The Titans have been building their offense, and now they need a franchise quarterback. Ward’s arm strength and mobility make him an attractive prospect, and his extensive playing time across different college levels suggests he’s ready for the NFL. Even Daniel Jeremiah is echoing this pick, making it seem like a foregone conclusion. While a quarterback might be tempting, the Browns opt for a dominant edge rusher. Pairing Carter with Myles Garrett creates a terrifying defensive duo. This pick prioritizes elite talent, a smart move for a team looking to contend.
This is where things get interesting. I’m not entirely sold on Sanders as a first-round pick. While his toughness and intangibles are undeniable, his arm strength is a question mark. The Giants could benefit more from building around their existing pieces and addressing the quarterback next year. An elite defensive player like Graham or Hunter would be a better fit. We’ve compiled NFL mock drafts from the top experts based on their history of NFL mock draft accuracy.

From our Start/Sit Assistant – which provides your optimal lineup based on accurate consensus projections – to our Trade Analyzer – which allows you to instantly find out if a trade offer benefits you... We're mere hours away from the 2025 NFL Draft, and the only thing we know for sure is that nobody knows exactly what's going to happen.
We have a pretty decent idea of how things will start out, as we always do. But we also know that things always get interesting pretty quickly, because somebody is going to do something unexpected. Luckily, we have a whole lot of prognosticators out there who try to forecast exactly what will happen. That can at least give us some insight into what should be expected, so that when the unexpected does happen, we can identify it. There are, of course, varying opinions on with the expectation should be, but even within that wide range of opinions, sometimes consensus emerges. That's what we're here to identify.
Incorporating draft-day mock drafts from our own Pete Prisco and Ryan Wilson, as well as ESPN's Field Yates and Peter Schrager, The Athletic's Dane Brugler and NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah, we came up with... The draft seemingly starts at the No. 5 overall pick. Every expert but one has the draft starting exactly this way: Cam Ward to the Tennessee Titans, Travis Hunter to the Cleveland Browns, Abdul Carter to the New York Giants and Will Campbell to... The one who doesn't have that exact order still has Ward-Hunter-Carter going 1-2-3, but just has a trade with the No. 4 overall pick.
Once we get to the Jaguars at No. 5, though, things start to go haywire. Nobody has Boise State star Ashton Jeanty making it past the Raiders with the No. 6 overall pick. Some experts have one team or another trading up for him inside the top five, but nobody expects him to be on the board for all that long. IT'S NFL DRAFT WEEK!!
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO! That's right, the 2025 NFL Draft is about to be upon us, with mock drafts everywhere as we prepare for the real thing on Thursday. So it’s time once again to round up the experts around the internet: who are they picking, to go where? We've done this before and we're doing it again: We take a bunch of mocks — specifically, the latest from our Christian D’Andrea, one from ESPN, another from PFF, one from Touchdown Wire, one... Then, we look at the picks each made and average out each player’s positions and match them to each of the first 32 picks of the first round. Anyone left out of a first-round mock was assigned the 33rd pick.
As always, we'll warn you: some of these picks may not fit the teams they’re assigned to due to trades in some mocks and some pick differences. This includes mock drafts from media analysts though Monday, April 21st, when most drop their final versions. Now we’ve collected a lot more mock draft data, solidifying potential landing spots and ranges of outcomes for the top prospects.
I’m expanding this version beyond the first round to the top 45 prospects by estimated draft position. For some prospects who are missing from mocks, the distribution of weighted mocks can be a bit deceiving, i.e. their rankings is much lower than the picks they’ve been mocked to. Prospects are lowered in ranking when they are excluded from mocks, not making the round cutoff. You will not find a more comprehensive data set for mock drafts than this analysis, which is combined with Benjamin Robinson’s work at Grinding The Mocks which gauges the prior accuracy of established mock... That work comes together in the “Weighted Mocks” score he has for each draft selection for every prospect.
You’ll find that score on a percentage basis on the Y axis. Here’s an explanation of how weighted mocks is calculated from Robinson: To calculate "Adjusted Mock Drafts", we use "Grinding the Mocks" pick-by-pick mock draft data at Player, Pick, and team level. As the draft order has only just been finalized, this data should become more firm as the draft process goes on. Player, team, and pick mock drafts are counted and then adjusted accordingly based on the draftnik's historic accuracy and how close the mock draft is from the date of the NFL draft. I don’t want to force comparisons between Ward and Steve McNair, but the Titans would be delighted if Ward could become the same sort of franchise QB McNair was. Titans’ selection in previous mock: Cam Ward In mock draft 1.0, I had the Browns taking Carter because Myles Garrett had issued a trade request, and Carter would offer needed fortification for the Cleveland... Now that Garrett is staying in the fold … I still like Carter here. Good luck trying to throw downfield on the Browns with Garrett and Carter roaring in off the edges.
