Joe Flacco And 3 More Quarterbacks To Start In Fantasy Football For We
Picking the right quarterback every week could be the edge that swings your fantasy football matchup. With that being said, Week 11 of the NFL season offers several favorable matchups and sneaky upside plays at QB. Below are several options to weigh with analysis on each. Flacco went off vs. the Steelers back in Week 7, throwing for 342 yards and three touchdowns. It’s incredible to consider him a near-lineup lock at 40 years old, but he’s been balling since being traded.
Flacco has thrown for multiple touchdowns in all four of his games as a Bengal and is coming off a Week 9 outing where he threw for a career-high 470 yards and two touchdowns. The Steelers lead the NFL in passing yards allowed per game (269.4) and give up the fifth-most fantasy points per game to signal callers. Flacco is a top 10 play at QB this week and is a near must start. Joe Flacco is averaging 25.5 fantasy PPG as the Bengals QB1.Joe Burrow has never averaged more than 22.5 fantasy PPG in a season. pic.twitter.com/xRAr6dHYou Love is coming off his worst fantasy performances of the season, scoring just 7.84 points against a stingy Eagles defense.
The Packers' offense was also hampered by injuries, especially in its pass-catcher room. Tucker Kraft is out for the season, Jayden Reed won’t come back for another couple of weeks, and rookie Matthew Golden was out on Monday with a shoulder injury. Golden will hopefully be back in Week 11, but I like Love to rebound this week either way. The Giants surrender the 10th-most passing yards (230.9) and the seventh-most fantasy points to signal callers per game. I also believe the game script will make the Packers more pass-heavy, as the Giants have been much more competitive since Jaxson Dart earned the starting nod. Rodgers’ second-best fantasy outing this season came against the Bengals in Week 7.
He threw for a season-high 249 yards and four touchdowns, the latter matching his season-high from Week 1. The Bengals surrendered the third-most passing yards per game (260.1) and are one of five teams that have given up 20+ passing touchdowns to quarterbacks this season. They also give up the second-most fantasy points to QBs per game. Furthermore, Cincinnati’s Trey Hendrickson is doubtful this week, which will cause its defensive front to struggle to generate pressure against Rodgers. This matchup can turn into a shootout, and I like each team’s QB as a start this week. Start em or sit em?
Fantasy football start or sit decisions can be excruciating. While it feels great to make the right call and cruise to fantasy glory, it hurts just as much when you have someone erupt while on your bench. Let’s take a look at a few polarizing players and what fantasy football expert Derek Brown advises.
And you can find all of DBro’s fantasy football outlook in this week’s fantasy football primer. Since Week 6, Flacco has been the QB1 in fantasy points per game. During that stretch, among 40 qualifying quarterbacks, he has ranked first in passing yards per game, 19th in yards per attempt, fifth in highly accurate throw rate, ninth in catchable target rate, and 16th... Flacco should post another nice stat line this week. Since Week 6, Pittsburgh has allowed the most passing yards per game, the 11th-most passing touchdowns, the 11th-highest adjusted completion rate, and ranked 18th in success rate per dropback. Baker Mayfield is the QB13 in fantasy points per game.
The injuries to the Bucs receiver room have hurt his fantasy stock, but he still has five QB1 outings in his last seven games. Among 42 qualifying passers, Mayfield ranks 13th in passing yards per game, 22nd in yards per attempt, 11th in passing touchdowns (tied), 20th in highly accurate throw rate, and eighth in hero throw rate. Mayfield could produce fringe QB1 numbers this week, but it won’t be easy. Since Week 6, Buffalo has allowed the 12th-fewest passing yards per game, the seventh-lowest passer rating, the fifth-lowest CPOE, and the tenth-lowest success rate per dropback. Jared Goff is the QB14 in fantasy points per game with two QB1 outings this season. While it hasn’t translated consistently to fantasy success, Goff has had an outstanding season so far.
Among 42 qualifying passers, he ranks fifth in yards per attempt, 12th in passing yards per game, seventh in highly accurate throw rate, and second in catchable target rate. Goff will face a Philly pass defense that since Week 6, has held passers to the 13th-lowest yards per attempt, the 14th-lowest passing yards per game, the lowest passing touchdowns, and has ranked 15th... It would be a bleak matchup, BUT Philly also has a rusted patch of their armor that Goff can strike and reach the heart of their pass defense. Philly has allowed the seventh-highest yards per attempt, the 11th-most passing yards per game, and the 11th-highest passer rating to play action passing. Overall, Goff has utilized play-action at the sixth-highest rate (30.1%), but last week with Dan Campbell taking over the play call sheet they bumped that up to 51.5%. Play-action could carry Goff to another strong game against a formidable opponent.
You have lineup questions, we have lineup answers -- at least we hope so. Start 'Em, Sit 'Em is here to help fantasy managers make difficult roster decisions. And you know what is a good move? Starting Christian McCaffrey. But that's too obvious, so you won't see such simple analysis here. Instead, we're exploring more debatable situations.
And if you can't find a player you are looking for, please check out the latest NFL Fantasy lineup rankings. NOTE: Unless otherwise indicated, all stats come from NFL Pro, Next Gen Stats or NFL Research. Simply put, Flacco has been a fantasy beast since joining the Bengals, averaging 24.9 fantasy PPG. In fact, he led the NFL in passing yards per game and touchdown passes in Weeks 6-9, showing a safe floor and very high ceiling. Against the Steelers in Week 7, he threw for 342 yards and three touchdowns, going for 26 fantasy points. On the season, Pittsburgh has allowed the second-most passing yards and seventh-most fantasy PPG to QBs.
Herbert delivered a floor game last week despite a favorable matchup on paper due to working behind a banged-up offensive line. He's worth another shot this weekend with another advantageous matchup against the Jaguars. They have allowed the fourth-most touchdown passes and fifth-most fantasy PPG to quarterbacks this season. Perhaps even more important, Jacksonville has generated sacks at the lowest rate in the NFL. That keeps Herbert in play. Love has had two consecutive extremely poor fantasy outings -- like, single-digit performances.
He has shown a low floor but can be a high-ceiling option. Tune out the last two weeks, and look at his 26-plus fantasy points against the Cowboys and Steelers. He has a favorable matchup against the Giants, who have allowed the fourth-most passing yards and fantasy PPG to QBs. They also struggle to defend the deep ball and generate pressure and sacks at below-average rates. This is a recipe for success for Love. We break down the fantasy football outlook of Joe Flacco ahead of Week 11
The 3-6 Cincinnati Bengals travel to Pittsburgh to take on the 5-4 Steelers. These two teams met up in Cincinnati in Week 7 in a barn burner Bengals 33-31 win. The Bengals offense did an about face once they traded for Flacco in Week 5, as the veteran quarterback was allowed to throw as much as he wanted. With the Bengals defense being one of the worst in the league, Flacco has thrown 45, 47, 33, and 47 times. Those huge numbers have led to Flacco putting up the most fantasy points per game of any quarterback in that stretch. Below, we’ll go over Joe Flacco’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 11.
In Cincinnati, Flacco threw for 342 yards and three touchdowns against the Steelers. On the season, Pittsburgh has given up the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Flacco also has Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to throw to coming off a bye. It’s hard to see Flacco not putting up at least decent numbers this week as long as the Steelers can move the ball, which they did with ease the last time these two met. The NFL's Week 11 takes only two teams away from fantasy football managers. The Indianapolis Colts' Daniel Jones and, coming off a career-best week, the New Orleans Saints' Tyler Shough will not be eligible for this week's lineups.
Still, this means that some of the game's best signal-callers re-emerge from their Week 10 byes, and the position remains flush with useful names to consider. Join the Blitz Community to help win your league this season Joe Flacco’s late-career resurgence in Cincinnati has been one of the biggest surprises of the fantasy football season. In just four starts, he’s averaged an astounding 25 fantasy points per game, throwing for over 340 yards twice and at least three touchdowns in three of those outings.
The Bengals’ offense has been completely reinvigorated in fantasy football since he took over, with Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Chase Brown producing significantly better. With the Bengals’ defense struggling this year, Flacco has yet to have a game under 34 passing attempts, with three of his games resulting in over 45 attempts. For Week 11, fantasy managers should confidently start Flacco against Pittsburgh. The Steelers have allowed the second-most passing yards in the NFL and have surrendered at least 20 fantasy points to five opposing quarterbacks this season. Flacco already torched this defense once for 342 yards and three scores earlier in the year. Pittsburgh’s secondary ranks bottom 10 in adjusted completion rate allowed and success rate per dropback since Week 6, while also dealing with some injuries in the secondary entering the week.
