i m reading 100 books in 2025 my reading challenge how i ll do it

Once again I’m doing this post when January is nearly over. With a new year comes a fresh start on reading challenges and goals. While I’m not officially signing up for any challenges besides the Goodreads one, I will provide links to challenges that are similar or ones that I’m using as a starting point for myself. While I surpassed my 2024 goal of 120 books, I decided to just keep it simple (if that’s the right word) and just do an even 100 books goal for 2025. I’m starting 2025 with 376 books on my TBR and as always would love to see this number lower. I have always done the one hosted by Austine Decker.

I currently have 325 books on my TBR list that were published 2024 or earlier (which is weirdly the exact number I started out with last year). Another year – more reading challenges! Below you’ll find a compilation of popular year-long 2025 reading challenges from blogs, YouTube and Instagram. This list will be updated with new challenges every Sunday through the end of January 2025, so check back often. Also check out our list of The Most Popular 2025 Reading Challenges on StoryGrpah. Did we miss any challenges?

Let us know in the comments and we’ll add it to the list. Here are My 2024 Reading Challenges, and I’m looking forward to trying some new ones in 2025. mood reader . genre fiction lover . slow runner . fast talker .

Drum roll please…it’s time for the 2025 Reading Challenge! This is my fifth year hosting this year long reading challenge. You will find that my reading challenge is fairly straight forward – read 52 books in one year, which means you are reading one book per week. While I do promote the idea of reading what you want, when you want, I also know sometimes you need a little push to read outside your comfort zone.

The purpose of the reading challenge is to help you make reading part of your daily routine. A book per week as completely doable if you replace some screen time with reading time instead! The Gist: Sharing my 2025 reading goals and challenges that keep me motivated—from tackling my backlist to staying on top of BOTM picks! Reading has been my hobby for 15 years now. While it’s a go-to stress reliever and something I love to do, I also have goals that I want to work towards. Setting specific and attainable goals and participating in reading challenges helps me stay on track and motivated!

However, in 2025, I’ve tweaked how I’ve set up my challenges by trying to make them more achievable and embedded with broader goals lingering in the back of my mind for a while. In addition to the nine main reading goals I’ve set for 2025, I’m also participating in two hosted challenges: the TBR Knockout Challenge and Buzzword Reading Challenge (book cover edition). These are more just for fun and are the only challenges where I use books I mood read to fulfill the prompts. My Goal: 150 booksThis is a self-explanatory goal, but it actually looks a lot different compared to years past—the number of books has been reduced by more than 200! Given my new job, I decided to make my Goodreads Reading Challenge more achievable—I needed reading to be more about relaxing and having fun than being stressed about overcoming a challenge. Also, I didn’t really know how working full-time would impact the number of books I read in a year, so I settled on 150 as an achievable goal.

Beat the Backlist is the only hosted challenge part of my reading goals because I find the Bingo game so fun. As mentioned in the title, this challenge prioritizes your backlist – the only books that count are published and purchased before 2025. I know reading my backlist is a refrain frequently echoed in the book community, but I’m determined that 2025 is the year I’m going to tackle it. Are you ready to take on the alphabet one book at a time? This challenge is straightforward yet full of opportunities to personalize your reading journey. The goal is to read a book that corresponds to each letter of the alphabet.

To make things easier for you, I’ve created a growing list of book suggestions for each letter, plus a Notion template to track your progress. (We all know how tricky finding books for Q, X, and Z can be, right? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered!) Get ready to dive into a reading adventure like no other! Book Trope Bingo is your chance to explore the fascinating world of popular book tropes. Whether you’re into “enemies to lovers,” “found family,” or “the chosen one,” this challenge invites you to immerse yourself in familiar favorites and discover new tropes along the way.

All you need is your reading journal, a notebook, or our FREE PRINTABLE bingo card to get started. As you read, check off each trope you come across and see if you can score a bingo. The journey is half the fun, and who knows what new favorites you’ll find? Happy reading, and may the tropes be ever in your favor! Who can resist a road trip, especially one that lets you explore the world from the comfort of your favorite reading spot? The Read’em All Road Trip Challenge is one of my personal favorites!

We’ve even created printable trackers just for you! The rules are simple: read a book set in each U.S. state, and as you do, color in the state on the map or jot down the book title. It’s a fun way to explore new places without leaving home.
