Find books, ebooks, articles, journals, conference papers, databases, and other resources for your research. May use VPN or sign in to proxy to access this database from off-campus. For individual items, click on the "Access Now" drop down menu for different means of accessing the materials, including Online Access (when available). With some exceptions, library materials may be used within the library by anyone. You must present a photo ID every time you check out library materials. CU Boulder students, staff and faculty are automatically registered with the Libraries (detailed CU Boulder affiliate borrower type information).
Your Buff OneCard or any photo ID will serve as your library card. Off-campus access to electronic resources varies by CU Boulder affiliate status. Colorado Law affiliates should refer to Law Library policies and procedures. If you are not currently a CU Boulder student, staff, faculty or retiree and you wish to take items outside the library, you must apply for borrowing privileges. Borrower type definitions, and how to register and/or renew privileges for each are detailed at Borrower Types: Definition and Registration. We participate in reciprocal borrowing programs with other libraries.
These programs allow visiting researchers to obtain borrowing privileges with us, and for CU Boulder affiliates to borrow items from other participating universities. For information on fees and fines, see our Circulation Policies. Law Library circulation policies vary from ours. Beyond books and media, we have a variety of items you can borrow with your Buff OneCard. For help with wireless access, printing and more, read about available technology support. Questions?
Contact us at libraries@colorado.edu. Of special interest to students in the Integrated Physiology program, we have a variety of artificial bones available for checkout from our "Boneyard" (see the full menu or view the library catalog record). Each item (or set of items) checks out for two hours. These items are first-come, first-served and they cannot be renewed or reserved ahead of time. Stop by the Norlin East service desk to check out and return. Borrow a Colorado State Park Pass, which allows entry of one vehicle into Colorado State Parks.
Request passes online; they circulate for one week from the Norlin East Service Desk. We ask that you wait at least a week after returning the pass before checking it out again in order to allow for broadest use of this resource. We have four passes; at time of checkout, please ask about availability of additional items (backpack, binoculars, guides and leaflets with supplementary information about Colorado wildlife and plant life). These passes are provided to us through the Check Out Colorado State Parks Program. Our hotspots provide a portable Wi-Fi connection anywhere on the North American T-Mobile 5G and 4G networks, which includes most of the continental U.S. and Hawaii and parts of Alaska, Mexico and Canada.
Current CU Boulder students, staff and faculty who have an educational need for a Wi-Fi hotspot can apply to check one out to your library account for a semester, including the summer session. If approved, you'll have ten days to stop by and check out the hotspot. As a condition of enrollment in this program, you must complete a short survey about your hotspot use. You are responsible for the hotspot and any lost or damaged units may result in fines. Tech support for hotspots is offered by Campus OIT. Apply for a hotspot.
