From donating funds to dropping off food to volunteering your time, there are countless ways to make a difference. Join us and help reach our $5 million goal. Through monthly themes and shared stories, we’re exploring food’s deeper meaning in our lives while building understanding about hunger and food justice in Washington.

Twelve Washington artists from marginalized communities bring fresh perspective to our understanding of hunger through monthly artwork that inspires dialogue and action. Food is one of the most critical building blocks of resilience – wherever there is oppression, there is resistance. Wherever there is hunger, there is injustice. Wherever there are full bellies, there is joy. Together, we will end hunger in Washington Harvest Against Hunger connects farmers, truckers, volunteers and foodbanks in Western Washington to reduce hunger and food waste.

Our Harvest VISTA Program allows us to support this work at a national scale. An incubator and catalyst, the Harvest VISTA Program utilizes a team of AmeriCorps VISTA embedded in local food system organizations across the county to serve marginalized and underserved communities. While serving at their host sites, Harvest VISTA members build and strengthen capacity for gleaning and produce recovery, as well as for local food systems. The produce recovery and gleaning programs focus on increasing access to local, fresh produce at the farm level, from urban fruit tree share programs in Salt Lake City to independent farm partnerships in Boston. The food system programs improve on existing models and create new ones, such as a grocery delivery program in Atlanta developed in the wake of COVID-19. Connecting more than 200,000 organizations with millions of people looking for social-impact jobs and volunteer opportunities.

The mission of Northwest Harvest is leading the fight for hungry people statewide to have access to nutritious food while respecting their dignity and promoting good health. Our vision is ending hunger in Washington. Northwest Harvest collects and distributes food to more than 375 independent food banks, hot meal programs, and high need schools across Washington State without proof of need. We provide over 2 million meals every month to individuals and families in need.

We also run one food bank of our own, the Cherry Street Food Bank in Seattle. Northwest Harvest is unable to provide court-related community service.
