Francine Huff (she/her) is SJN's Vice President of Program: She leads strategy related to SJN's programming, including overseeing team relationships and connections, improving existing programming and services, and planning and implementing new initiatives. She was the Knight Chair for Student Achievement at Florida A&M University and a bureau chief for The Wall Street Journal. She has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Northwestern and a master's degree in communications from Rutgers. My 2025 has started off busy and productive as I assume my new role as the Vice President of Program at the Solutions Journalism Network. I joined SJN in 2021 because of the organization's commitment to leading a global shift in journalism that helps journalists report on how communities are solving problems. I am proud to continue this important work with my amazing SJN colleagues and members of our global network.

In this role, she will help build team relationships and connections, improve existing programming and services, and plan and implement new initiatives. Already an SJN-er for 3.5 years, Francine has left her mark on our efforts to build relationships with universities and our work building a welcoming global network of solutions-minded journalists. Before joining SJN, she was the Knight Chair for Student Achievement at Florida A&M University and a bureau chief for The Wall Street Journal. As a member of the SJN team, she asks tough, thoughtful questions that keep us focused on delivering results, and helps navigate difficult discussions with compassion and insight.
