It divides credit and blame based on the difficulty of the players’ contributions to the success or failure of the team.” This gives NBA teams, fans, front office folks, etc. a new metric to judge a player’s impact for their respective team. Take last night’s games(Feb. 3rd) for example.

The ESPN Analytics interface provides data on the Net Points gained by each team within the certain parameters of 2pt & 3pt shooting, rebounding, turnovers and free throws. The site also shows the highest and lowest overall, offensive and defensive Net Point performers of the night.
