Epstein Files Released Justice Department Posts Documents Online
Updated on: December 24, 2025 / 2:25 PM EST / CBS News The Justice Department said in a post on X Wednesday that it was informed by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and the FBI that "they have uncovered over a million more documents potentially related to the Jeffrey Epstein case." The Justice Department said it had received... "We have lawyers working around the clock to review and make the legally required redactions to protect victims, and we will release the documents as soon as possible," the Justice Department said. DOJ said the process may take "a few more weeks" due to the volume of materials and said the department "will continue to fully comply with federal law and President Trump's direction to release... Under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, the Justice Department faced a Dec.
19 deadline to release all the unclassified materials it has on the investigation. After the initial tranche of documents was released on the day of the deadline, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the remaining files would be released on a rolling basis. The Department of Justice on Tuesday released another batch of files related to deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The latest documents appear to contain court records, emails and some heavily or completely redacted files. In a Tuesday morning post on X, the DOJ announced the latest drop and claimed to have released "nearly 30,000 more pages of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein." The post also refers to claims... "Some of these documents contain untrue and sensationalist claims made against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election," the post states.
"To be clear: the claims are unfounded and false, and if they had a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already." Trump, who was largely unmentioned in the initial batch of files released by the DOJ on Friday, is a former friend of Epstein's and has long denied any wrongdoing related to the disgraced New... Epstein died by suicide while in detention in 2019. The Justice Department on Friday released a huge trove of documents connected to the deceased financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, partially complying with federal legislation that ordered officials to make public a... The “Epstein files” saga will spill into 2026, despite a deadline last week to release all of the records. Congress passed a law last month — with near-unanimous support — requiring the Justice Department to release all of its files about Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender who was accused...
Epstein died by suicide in 2019. The so-called “Epstein files” are made of over 300 gigabytes of data, papers, videos, photographs and audio files that live within the FBI’s main electronic case management system and largely originate from the FBI’s... The new transparency law gave the Justice Department a December 19 deadline to release all the records related to Epstein. The department has since published hundreds of thousands of files over the past week to a landing page on the DOJ website, dubbed the “Epstein Library.” The records included on the Justice Department website include court records, responses to public records requests, and documents previously released by the House Committee on Oversight and Government reform. The Justice Department on Tuesday released thousands of new documents related to the investigation of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, after acknowledging that its initial release of heavily redacted material last week was incomplete.
The latest batch contains numerous references to Donald Trump, the current president, who was friends with Epstein in the 1990s and early 2000s. Trump has said he had a “falling out” with Epstein, and authorities have not accused Trump of any criminal wrongdoing in the case. Documents posted by the DOJ on Tuesday include an email from a federal prosecutor in New York who states that Trump was listed as a passenger on Epstein’s private plane at least eight times... In a statement posted to X, the Justice Department said that some of the documents posted Tuesday “contain untrue and sensationalist claims” against Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020... “To be clear: the claims are unfounded and false, and if they had a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already,” the DOJ said. “Nevertheless, out of our commitment to the law and transparency, the DOJ is releasing these documents with the legally required protections for Epstein’s victims.”
WASHINGTON – The Justice Department has released hundreds of thousands of documents dealing with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, often with what women who accused him of abuse call “abnormal” redactions. But the department said Dec. 24 the FBI "uncovered over a million more documents potentially related to the Jeffrey Epstein case” and said the process of reviewing them for release will take "a few more weeks." The department had... 19 deadline Congress set for the release of all the records. Add it all up and it's so far been a dizzying whirlwind of information. Documents can sometimes offer false or unfiltered accusations.
The department has warned the records contained “untrue and sensationalist” accusations against President Donald Trump from just before the 2020 election. The FBI labeled a purported note from Epstein to disgraced former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar a “fake" despite releasing it to the public. Key documents also remain under wraps. Lawmakers have called for the release of a 60-count indictment drafted against Epstein during a 2008 investigation that never led to federal charges and the 82-page prosecution memo about legal arguments in the case. Even what is available in the documents often lacks context. Pictures don’t name who is portrayed, or when or where the shots were taken.
Epstein hosted celebrities and business leaders at his properties, including a private Caribbean island but nobody other than his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, have been charged with abuse.
