There are three types of free English classes you can take at the Library: Series-Based English classes, We Speak NYC Conversation classes, and Citizenship Prep & U.S. History classes. Our series-based English classes meet one or two days a week for 10 weeks. Sessions run three times a year—plus a shorter summer cycle—and are offered for beginner, intermediate, or advanced levels. Students are required to take an English assessment test, so they can be placed in a class that matches their skill level.
