Below are frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding your account information and certificates. If there is something on the page that is unclear or does not answer your question, please email Lucy Gimble or visit our contact page for who to call. Registration for all EITP sponsored events is available through the EITP Events page. Costs vary for events but you can view the cost on the registration page of the specific event at the EITP Events page. No. EITP is not authorized to accept credit card payments over the telephone and therefore does not accept registrations by phone or email.
If you need assistance, you are welcome to call our office at 217-300-9661 or toll free 866-509-3867. We are happy to walk you through the registration process. As a courtesy to the broader early intervention public, training events other than those of the EI Training Program are often posted on our website. The Early Intervention Training Program does not manage the registration processes for these events and thus, the event may be listed as "closed". If there is contact information posted with an event or specific registration information, follow those leads for further registration information. Our organization is growing and developing all the time.
As we try to keep up with the ever-changing world of technology, we have posted some of the commonly asked questions regarding being new to the system and getting Credentialing hours. Keep in mind, we also have an entire section for those who are New to EI. We recommend taking a look through the different sections on that page. All providers entering the IL Early Intervention System are required to complete the Systems Overview Training. The Training Program works very hard to develop training curriculum that reflects Illinois policies and procedures as well as best practices in the field of early intervention.
In addition to the System Overview, any training activity sponsored by the IL Early Intervention Training Program is a good choice and is endorsed by the IL Bureau of Early Intervention. These activities are posted on our website with a green EI icon next to the event title. Online registration is available for these events. We'd recommend any of them. Some important sessions are "Key Principles in EI", "Assessment in EI", and "Hawaii Early Learning Profile". We also have a variety of online curriculum that are free of charge.
Other upcoming events posted to our website have been through the EI credit review process and based on the information reviewed have been determined to be appropriate to count towards your Illinois early intervention... However, training/continuing education provided by entities other than EITP must be reviewed and approved by EITP before you can apply those training hours to your credential. EITP does post training events to its online calendar that have met requirements for EI credit approval based upon the information submitted for review. But EITP does not otherwise seek and/or research events to post on its calendar. Nor does it endorse the quality and content of the events posted on the website other than its own. Other sources for training opportunities are community colleges, LICs, state and/or national organizations of your State Licensed Disciplines, State University Extension Programs, as well as internet searches for training opportunities in topics relative to... This requirement is a CUMULATIVE TOTAL of ALL coursework and/or workshops completed by an individual focusing on infants and toddlers (birth to 3) with special needs. Once this requirement has been fulfilled and providers have received verification from the EI credentialing office, it will not be required again. The core knowledge area requirements are as follows: Completion of educational experiences that include the equivalent of at least 2 semester hours or 30 clock hours in each of the following: * Young Children is defined as children age birth to three.
