Maye continued his breakout second season by registering 261 passing yards and three touchdowns in Sunday’s 25-19 win over the New Orleans Saints. He became just the fourth quarterback in NFL history to notch 200 passing yards and a quarterback rating over 100 in five straight games at age 23 or younger. As he continues to climb NFL leaderboards, Maye is drawing more recognition in the MVP conversation. However, Maye downplayed that discussion during Monday’s interview on “WEEI Afternoons.” “Oh shoot. Nah, I’ve got a lot of work to do,” Maye said.

“I think that’s a long way away. Getting some more wins is what I’m focused on.” The betting markets may disagree with Maye. As of Monday, he’s tied with Matthew Stafford for the sixth-shortest odds (+1600) of all MVP candidates on FanDuel Sportsbook.
