On one end, many managers are jostling for playoff positioning and deciding whether to go all in or sit back for another season.

Oronde Gadsden II, TE, Los Angeles Chargers (+124) The Philadelphia Eagles’ dynamic receiving duo of A.J.

Brown and DeVonta Smith presents contrasting fantasy football narratives heading into the 2025 season. While Brown’s injury-shortened 2024 campaign has dropped his ADP to more palatable late second or early third-round territory, his ceiling remains capped by the Eagles’ multi-faceted offensive approach. Call me a hater — it’s fine — but I’ll typically avoid AJ Brown at ADP. That was the case until this year, when he now looks far more valuable. For a while, he was near the top of the competition with CeeDee Lamb, but his ceiling wasn’t and wouldn’t be as high as that of any of the elite receivers. That doesn’t mean Brown can’t be incredible, but in this offense, he just struggles with bouts of inconsistency that the other guys don’t.

That’s just to be nitpicky, which I think is fair when you’re an elite draft pick. After an injury-shortened season, his ADP has dropped to around the late 2nd or early 3rd, a far more reasonable price to pay for him. The fact of the matter is, the Eagles’ offense does not rely on him like other receivers are. That’s a blessing and a curse. When Brown gets hot and the offense is in a flow state, he’s borderline unstoppable. However, if Brown is banged up or they face a strong CB1, the Eagles do not need him to find success.

Griffin Wong assesses Philadelphia Eagles wide receivers DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, but they fell short in a 38-35 thriller. Brown (six catches, 96 yards, and a touchdown) and Smith (seven catches, 100 yards) weren’t the problem, but regardless, they’ll be hungry for revenge in the rematch on Sunday. Both players are tremendous athletes, and they’ll need to show up if Philadelphia wants to exact redemption.

But which player is a better asset in DraftKings’ flagship DFS contest, Super Bowl Millionaire? A.J. Brown ($14,400 Captain, $9,600 FLEX) is the more expensive player, but I’d argue that DeVonta Smith ($11,100 Captain, $7,400 FLEX) has better value. More details here: Christian McCaffrey - 129.5 total yards in Underdog Pick'em. He's the RB3 on RB1 overall usage this month, but Brian Robinson has sprinkled in slightly more recently as a run-game spark. CMC is still posting fantasy WR1 numbers as a receiver, and the 49ers are projected for 25.75 points against the Cardinals, who might not have 1st-round DT Walter Nolen again.

De'Von Achane - 122.5 total yards in Underdog Pick'em. The Philadelphia Eagles decided to lock up both of their dynamic WRs to help secure the supporting cast around QB Jalen Hurts for years to come. Yet, there appears to be a clear pecking order among these pass-catchers, with A.J. Brown being the better fantasy asset over DeVonta Smith heading into the future. What should fantasy managers expect from Smith entering his fourth season in the NFL? One could argue that Smith has one of the best fantasy floors of any receiver, given his solid production every year in the NFL.

DeVonta Smith’s Fantasy Production Since Entering the NFL Smith has seen north of 100 targets every year of his career and has proven that a smaller receiver (6’0”, 170 lbs) who was an elite separator in college can win consistently on the...
