Dodgers Shohei Ohtani Unanimously Voted Mvp For Fourth Time Msn
Once again, Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani has been named his league's Most Valuable Player. On Thursday night, Ohtani won National League MVP, beating out fellow finalists Kyle Schwarber (Philadelphia Phillies) and Juan Soto (New York Mets). By sweeping all 30 first-place votes, Ohtani was a unanimous selection for the award. Here is the voting. This is Ohtani's third straight MVP and the fourth of his career. He is the second player in history with four career MVP awards, joining Barry Bonds, who won a record seven.
Bonds (2001-04) is the only other player to win three MVPs consecutively. Last year, Ohtani joined Hall of Famer Frank Robinson as the only players to win MVP in each league. Ohtani won the 2021 and 2023 AL MVP awards with the Los Angeles Angels and now the 2024 and 2025 NL MVP awards with the Dodgers. Ohtani garnered all 30 first-place votes from the Baseball Writers' Association of America. He's won all four of his MVPs in unanimous fashion.

There is no higher regular-season baseball honor than the Most Valuable Player award, and even there, Ohtani is starting to run out of company. He was selected as the National League’s MVP on Wednesday, his fourth league MVP in five seasons. Ohtani joins Barry Bonds as the only players to take home the award more than three times. This time, Ohtani won it over fellow finalists Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies and Juan Soto of the New York Mets. Like the three times he won before, the voting was unanimous. LAS VEGAS — When it came to Major League Baseball’s history of the most valuable player award, there used to be Barry Bonds — then everyone else. Over his 22-year career, Bonds won baseball’s highest individual honor a record seven times. Before this year, no one else had more than three.
But, like Bonds, accomplishing things no one else can has become the defining trait of Shohei Ohtani’s rise to superstardom. And on Thursday, his career was elevated another notch higher, as he was named MVP for the fourth time by unanimous vote from the Baseball Writers Assn. of America to join Bonds in an exclusive club of winners with more than three. Shohei Ohtani likes winning Most Valuable Player awards. He loves winning the World Series even more. The two-way Japenese star did both for a second season in a row for the Los Angeles Dodgers, earning his fourth career MVP on Thursday night while unanimously earning the National League honor. He’s just the second to win four MVPs after Barry Bonds with seven and the only player to win unanimously more than once. Considering Ohtani is 31, overtaking Bonds doesn’t seem out of the question. Especially if it leads to more Fall Classic opportunities.
