Commanders 3 Round 2025 Nfl Draft According To Pff Mock Simulator
Good news for the Washington Commanders as they kept their offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury in the house. That could help Jayden Daniels have another banner year. Looking forward, here is an analysis of the Commanders' three-round 2025 NFL Draft, according to the Pro Football Focus mock draft simulator. The Commanders enter the draft with needs at wide receiver, offensive tackle, edge rusher, and cornerback (thanks to Ron Rivera’s knuckleheaded decision to draft Emmanuel Forbes Jr. in the first round in 2023). So what did the simulator churn out for Washington in the first three rounds?
When looking at the Commanders’ needs, this doesn’t fit the bill. Yes, the running back position is not NFL elite, with Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler leading the way. But it doesn’t seem like the Commanders should burn their first pick on the position. Hampton grades out at a solid 88.2 for the NFL Draft. So he’s certainly not a slouch.
With the free-agent market settling down, teams are turning their focus to the 2025 NFL Draft, which kicks off just four weeks from today. This mock draft exercise provides a snapshot of the current draft landscape as we continue through the free agency period, highlighting potential landing spots, positional depth, value clusters, and overall positional importance. Let’s take a look at how the dominoes might fall if rounds 1-3 were held right now. The growing sense in the wake of the NFL Combine was that the first overall pick is for sale. As the Aaron Rodgers saga continues, it feels like the New York Giants may be the outliers despite their utter desperation to lure the future Hall of Famer. Therefore, I wouldn’t be surprised if Giants general manager Joe Schoen broke the glass on the nuclear codes when piecing together an offer to save his job.
In the meantime, the Titans still own the No. 1 overall pick. Their only free-agent acquisition at the quarterback position was journeyman Brandon Allen, and I would be hard-pressed to believe that Brian Callahan would like to run it back with Will Levis. Therefore, I’m operating under the assumption that Ward is the plan with this selection, providing the Titans with an immediate upgrade at the game’s most important position. The views and opinions expressed in this article do not reflect the opinion of the team. 29 overall pick. Check back weekly until the draft for more updates. Selection: Matthew Golden, WR, Texas (March 5) Analysis: The Commanders' receiver room could be undergoing an enticing makeover, with the trade for Deebo Samuel being the first move. Golden would be a tremendous addition, fitting well alongside Samuel and WR1 Terry McLaurin. Selection: Donovan Jackson, OL, Ohio State (March 6)
With each passing week, the 2025 NFL Draft picture becomes a little clearer, and PFF’s Mock Draft Simulator reflects that momentum. By tracking recent shifts in average draft position — and adding context from PFF’s big board and 2025 Draft Guide — we can spotlight the prospects generating buzz as the draft draws closer. Here are some of the biggest risers in recent mock drafts. Analysis from PFF's big board: Membou presented a high athletic ceiling in 2023 before his confidence and control took off in 2024. There are times when he could play with more power, but he brings starting-caliber length and movement ability to the NFL with good production as a zone blocker. Analysis from PFF's big board: The word “versatile” gets thrown around too much with defensive back prospects, but Barron is exactly that.
As a natural zone defender with excellent instincts and anticipation, he is a starting-caliber pro at safety, wide cornerback or nickel defender — sometimes as all three in the same game — for Cover... Analysis from PFF's big board: Campbell has the ideal build and athletic ability to play any linebacker spot, but he projects best to a Mike or Sam LB in 4-3 schemes or a Mike/EDGE... He must continue to develop anticipation and strength, but he has the mold of an All-Pro player. The Giants will be looking to upgrade their front seven at some point. They could do that atop Round 3. Joshua Farmer was solid in run support while also putting decent pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Follow @walterfootball for updates. Also, you can Support Us on Patreon here!
Also, if you haven’t visited the site in a while, you may have noticed the new look. Yes, after nearly two decades, we’ve finally re-designed our site to be more modern. This was not done on a whim, but rather out of necessity because of what occurred during the 2023 NFL Draft. Our site crashed during the entire first day of the draft, which was disastrous for our revenue stream because we make more money during the draft than any other time. The site crashed because a line of code conflicted with the old format of the site, so we had to transition to this new look. Because we lost so much money during the draft, I want to point out that you can really help support the site by paying for the ad-free version of it.
It’s $7.99 per month, but you’ll get a super-fast site with no ads. My developer will be adding new features to paid subscribers as well, so look for that in the near future. If you don’t want to pay, please spread the word about the site through word of mouth. That would also be a big help! Fresh off a stunning 2024 playoff run that saw them secure a Wild Card berth and charge all the way to the NFC Championship Game, the Washington Commanders entered the 2025 NFL Draft with... After a breakout season from the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year, Washington’s front office focused on complementing Daniels with more firepower on offense and adding depth to an ascending defense.
Round 1, Pick 29: Omarion Hampton, RB, North CarolinaWashington shocked some analysts by taking a running back in the first round, but Omarion Hampton is more than just a luxury pick—he’s a statement. The UNC standout brings a punishing downhill running style paired with sneaky acceleration and receiving chops. After splitting backfield duties in 2024, the Commanders clearly want to give Daniels a true three-down weapon to take pressure off his shoulders and control the tempo. The Washington Commanders are carrying a four-game losing streak heading into mid-November. With three more losses this season than the visiting Detroit Lions, who also happen to sit in the final Wild Card seat in the NFC entering Week 10, the Commanders desperately need to get... For those interested in seeing Washington return to competitive play despite the losing streak, the good news is that the team is doing everything in its power to do just that.
And for the portion of the fan base already dreaming of a better 2026, there are sites like Pro Football Focus already churning out mock drafts, a full five and a half months ahead... Currently sitting in the ninth spot in that 2026 NFL Draft, here is the latest mock projection by famed NFL Draft analyst, Trevor Sikkema. Caleb Downs lord have mercy pic.twitter.com/YJlctAo4fy The 2025 NFL draft is just a few short weeks away, and mock drafts are in abundance. The Washington Commanders have just five picks in the upcoming draft, and GM Adam Peters will use them wisely. In the most recent PFF mock draft, the Commanders are predicted to select Georgia defensive end Mykel Williams.
29. Washington Commanders: EDGE Mykel Williams, GeorgiaThe Commanders need to find the pièce de résistance of their defense for Dan Quinn’s scheme, and Williams could very well be that foundation. He’s a strong, versatile defender with a ceaseless motor. He has room to improve as a pass rusher, but his 86.6 PFF run-defense grade across the past three seasons (97th percentile) will help him be an early contributor. As with most draft prospects, Williams will need some development before he's ready for the NFL field. His 6-foot-five, 260-pound frame is a huge presence on the field, and he knows how to use his strength and size to his advantage.
However, to have a real impact on the field, he needs to work on the more technical aspects of the game, like timing. As a senior at Georgia, Williams recorded 21 tackles (15 solo), one pass deflection, five sacks, and two forced fumbles. He did this while sharing time with other players on a defensive rotation at Georgia, which limited his playing time. His impact goes far beyond the stat line, though, as he tears through offensive lines with a bulldog mentality. The Commanders need to add depth to their defense, and defensive players are becoming a common theme for the first-round pick in most mock drafts. The Washington Commanders have the 29th pick in the NFL Draft when Round 1 begins April 24 in Green Bay.
The Commanders own five total picks in the seven-round draft. Every pick in the seven-round NFL Draft. • Round 1: April 24, 8 p.m. ET • Rounds 2-3: April 25, 7 p.m. ET • Rounds 4-7: April 26, noon ET All rounds will be televised on ESPN/ABC and NFL Network and in Spanish on ESPN Deportes.
General manager: Adam Peters (second season with team) Head coach: Dan Quinn (second season with team) Last year’s record: 12-5
