Michigan 1, TCU 1. Week 7 of the 2025 college football season, as usual, brought plenty of drama.
The highest-ranked squad to fall this week was No. 3 Oregon, which lost its first regular season Big Ten game since joining the conference in 2024. A huge 30-20 victory for the Indiana Hoosiers is set to alter the top portion of this week's rankings — but that wasn't the only significant result. Michigan (31-13 loss to USC), Iowa State (24-17 loss to Colorado) and Florida State (34-31 loss to Pitt) were among the AP Top-25 squads to fall in Week 7. In the Red River Rivalry, Arch Manning and Texas came through with a much-needed 23-6 victory, something to build off for the Longhorns. And elsewhere, while Penn State had already fallen from the polls following its defeat to UCLA, the Nittany Lions' struggles continued with a home loss to Northwestern.

After that big-time road win, Oregon is now up to No. 2, and Penn State slid to No.
7 on the heels of a missed opportunity at home. That wasn't the only marquee matchup of the night as No. 17 Alabama rolled into Athens and took down No. 5 Georgia, 24-21. That loss dropped Kirby Smart's record against the Crimson Tide to 1-7, and it dropped the Bulldogs to No. 12 in the poll.
Meanwhile, Alabama surged up to No. 10. Even before all that madness, the weekend began with a Friday night slate in which Arizona State handed No. 24 TCU its first loss, and Virginia pulled off a major upset against No. 8 Florida State. Both of those teams got dinged in rankings as the Horned Frogs dropped out, and the Seminoles slipped out of the top 10 to No.

The latest AP Top 25 college football rankings drop Texas A&M from the top five, pushing both No. 3 Georgia and No. 4 Oregon up one spot. No. 5 Texas Tech follows with its highest ranking since November 2008. After three top-five teams lost to lower-ranked opponents this weekend, Oregon moved up to No.
2, Mississippi jumped to No. 4 and No. 5 Oklahoma rounded out the shuffled top of the AP Top 25 college football poll on Sunday. Ohio State received 46 first-place votes to remain No. 1, and No. 2 Oregon received 16 first-place votes after the Ducks beat Penn State in double overtime on Saturday night in Happy Valley.
The Nittany Lions dropped four spots from No. 3 to No. 7. Idle Miami slipped a spot to No. 3 and received four first-place votes. No.
4 Ole Miss has its highest ranking since 2015 after the Rebels beat LSU. The loss sent the Tigers tumbling nine spots from fourth to No. 13. No. 5 Oklahoma, which had the week off, was followed by No. 6 Texas A&M.
The Aggies moved up three places following a win over Auburn. No. 8 Indiana, No. 9 Texas and Alabama round out the top 10. The Crimson Tide moved up seven spots to return to the top 10 after beating Georgia on Saturday in Athens. The Bulldogs fell seven places from No.
5 to No. 12, their lowest ranking since 2020. Alabama started the season at No. 8 and took a big tumble to No. 21 after losing its opener at Florida State. The Crimson Tide have been on a steady climb since then and are back in the top 10.
