This week, may you be uplifted by tradition, grounded in purpose, and inspired to lead with intention. Happy Kwanzaa! #CASStrategies Climate misinformation is not a niche problem. It shapes public trust, distorts policy debates, and increasingly undermines collective action at the exact moment when speed and coordination matter most. Yet across major tech platforms, the systems designed to curb misinformation often stop short when the topic is climate, treated as controversial content rather than a civic risk.
That gap is what this piece interrogates. Senior Advisor, Pinal Shah recently participated in a seminar led by the Harvard Radcliffe Institute on Online Civic Trust and Climate Change. She was invited based on her deep trust and safety experience across platforms including Lyft, Robinhood, DoubleVerify, and Amazon Web Services (AWS), where she served as Global Head of Policy for Trust & Safety. In this essay, Pinal and her co-authors examine why tech platforms continue to underinvest in combating climate misinformation, how existing incentive structures shape those decisions, and what needs to change if platforms are serious... Read the full piece: https://lnkd.in/euG3CjcQ Many tech platforms lack specific policies addressing climate disinformation, and even those with rules in place struggle to enforce them effectively, Alice Goguen Hunsberger, Pinal Shah and Theodora Skeadas write.
A recent seminar explored why platforms fail to adequately address this problem, and what would it take to change that. https://lnkd.in/euG3CjcQ Earlier this month, Senior Advisor Newton Campbell Jr., Ph.D. joined global cyber leaders at the 12th Annual French-American Cyber Security Conference to explore Cyber Security in the Global Digital Economy. One of the most consequential insights from the conference emerged during a closed-door roundtable Newton led on trust-building for AI-driven sustainable development. Stripped of keynote polish and diplomatic framing, the discussion surfaced a critical reality: AI risk in critical infrastructure is not accumulating where many policymakers think it is.
While much of the public narrative assumes AI is being embedded directly into cyber-physical control systems, the reality is more nuanced and more concerning. Operators are rightly cautious about placing AI inside closed operational loops. Instead, a quieter shift is taking place outside the perimeter: human operators increasingly rely on commercial large language models to interpret data, draft procedures, and inform decisions that are later executed inside secure systems. This emerging Human–LLM feedback loop sits beyond traditional OT security controls, creating a trust and governance gap that few organizations are prepared to manage. As Newton outlines, this is where vulnerabilities related to data poisoning, supply chain exposure, and unverified AI outputs begin to compound—especially in high-stakes environments like energy, water, and climate infrastructure. The takeaway is not to slow AI adoption, but to mature it.
As the roundtable consensus made clear: too early to trust does not mean too early to adopt. What’s required now are stronger assurance mechanisms, real zero-trust architectures for AI interactions, and a renewed focus on training humans to interrogate AI not defer to it. As Newton writes, data is no longer the scarce resource, trust is. Read the full article to explore why the green transition won’t fail at the physical plant but at the data layer, if we don’t address this hidden loop: https://lnkd.in/eCbyHCD9 #AIDriven #CyberSecurity #CASStrategies This season, we pause to reflect on the progress, partnerships, and purpose that defined this year. From strengthening AI governance to equipping leaders with the digital fluency needed for the next era of innovation—we’re grateful for the opportunity to do work that protects people, advances missions, and prepares organizations for...

Organizations adopted AI faster in 2025 than they built the capabilities to govern it. This 2026 AI Outlook breaks down ten strategic signals that will define AI performance next year—from agentic systems and governance pressures to vendor risk, geopolitical shifts, and security threats—helping leaders prioritize investments and build... Artificial intelligence now sits at the foundation of modern software development and digital services. It writes code, automates workflows, manages integration layers, supports system administration, and increasingly operates as an autonomous component inside production environments. But as AI becomes woven into the core of technical architectures, a new class of vulnerabilities is emerging. These failures do not come from bugs or misconfigurations.
They stem from how models interpret context, resolve contradictions, infer trust, and act with delegated authority. We are not anticipating fragility. We are encountering fragility that already exists. In the end, the technology is not the differentiator, leadership is. Compound leadership isn’t just how you manage AI; it’s how you evolve your organization’s intelligence. Each decision compounds the next, turning governance into momentum and foresight into advantage.
