Browns 4 Round 2026 Nfl Mock Draft A Franchise Quarterback Is Within
The current 2026 NFL draft order has the Cleveland Browns out of position for the top two quarterbacks of this draft cycle. The Browns could use the extra pick they have from the Jacksonville Jaguars to move up a few spots, but that would assume A) they wouldn’t be outbid by a team like the New... Instead, for the first time in a while, our latest Cleveland NFL mock draft does not include a top quarterback. Last week, it was Dante Moore. The week before, it was Fernando Mendoza. With this Browns mock draft, you can assume whichever realistic quarterback you would prefer (Shedeur Sanders, Malik Willis, Geno Smith, Joe Flacco, etc).
This week, we used Pro Football Network’s Mock Draft Simulator to assist in building Cleveland’s roster, mostly on offense: The best tackle prospect in this year’s draft helps solidify the line in front of any quarterback A 6’2”, 230-pound receiver who is fast with long arms and willing to be physical checks all the boxes needed to upgrade the passing game The latest Cleveland Browns loss to the New England Patriots pushed the team inside the top five picks. The Browns are currently slotted for the fourth pick in the draft. The organization has to walk a tight rope the rest of the season.
The team must win enough games to keep their jobs, but doing so takes them out of the race for a top pick and an opportunity to draft a top quarterback. The Browns still have a long road ahead of them to the end of the season. However, many people are looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. The college football season is nearly done. Conference play is in full swing, as many universities across the country prepare to take on some of their most hated rivals over the final month. Some universities are preparing to make a push for the college football playoffs, while others are wondering if they’ll be the Cinderella story.
The most unlucky are playing hard for personal pride and draft status. As the college season wraps up, we’ll be putting this series in overdrive as we extend from the first three rounds to five rounds. The goal of this series isn’t to wish-cast future Browns players, but to highlight some of the best prospects heading into college football Saturday. This mock will be an exercise on the day two options, assuming the top quarterback prospects go before the Browns pick. Spencer Fano entered the season as the consensus top tackle in the 2026 NFL draft. The true junior is a great athlete at 6-foot-5 and over 300 pounds.
Fano is known for his quick foot speed and nasty demeanor. Unfortunately, Fano hasn’t played up to the hype this season, but he’s still holding onto his top spot. He isn’t playing with the same level of athleticism or aggressiveness this season. He looked slow against Texas Tech’s duo of future-NFL designated pass rushers in David Bailey, a potential first-round pick, and second-day pick Romello Height. Fano still has time to bounce back, and he has a top-25 matchup against the University of Cincinnati this Saturday. Fano must kick up his level of aggression.
The top offensive linemen in the NFL love to finish plays strongly. Fano has all the tools to join the upper echelon of top run blockers in the NFL. He has the range and strength to build a run game around. However, he hasn’t played up to that level. He continues to struggle with pass blocking. He doesn’t get to his landmarks quickly enough.
He gives up the outside track too easily at times. The young tackle needs a lot more refinement before he’s ready for the NFL. Latest 2026 NFL mock draft from ESPN has the Cleveland Browns adding a QB and left tackle by trading up for Dante Moore The Cleveland Browns clearly need a quarterback, but assuming the team will find one in the 2026 NFL draft depends on so many different variables, including which ones declare for this year’s selection process. Quarterback is not the be-all end-all of a successful NFL team, but a vital one for sure. The Browns probably should have prioritized other positions in the 2025 NFL draft after passing early in the process.
Cleveland is currently slotted with the third overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft order, as well as the 20th pick being sent over from the Jacksonville Jaguars. NFL mock drafts will continue to focus on three positions for the Browns: Quarterback, offensive tackle, and wide receiver. In ESPN’s latest 2026 NFL mock draft, Matt Miller has Cleveland flipping positions with the New York Giants (giving up two 3rd roudn picks) to get that prized quarterback: The Browns’ many attempts to find a franchise quarterback have failed, so it’s back to the drawing board. Moore started five games at UCLA in 2023 before transferring to Oregon and sitting behind Dillon Gabriel -- whom he’d actually be replacing here -- in 2024. Moore has played with poise and touch this season, completing 72.8% of his passes for 2,190 yards and 21 touchdowns to five interceptions while showing great arm talent.
The Cleveland Browns are benefitting from a strong 2025 NFL Draft class with their top rookies delivering both on defense, in the passing game and running the ball. The missing piece is at quarterback. With the team at 1-2 and coming off an upset win over the mighty Green Bay Packers, the Browns are surviving with Joe Flacco under center, and it appears a matter of time before... If either of those rookies can jumpstart the offense, the 2025 NFL Draft class could go down in history as one of the best for the Browns. Of course, if Sunday’s win was just one of the any given Sunday flukes in the NFL, the Browns could still land a top five pick even with the talent from the rookie class... With two first round picks, potential picks that could land in the top 10, can the Browns land their franchise guy?
In his latest mock draft, CBS Sportswriter Mike Renner has the Browns selecting No. 1 overall and the prize quarterback isn’t who you think. If Arch Manning declares for the 2026 NFL Draft, he is or at least was considered the prize of the draft, but there’s another quarterback turning heads in college football and his name is... The 2026 NFL draft is slowly approaching. The Cleveland Browns are projected to be drafting within the top five. The team is only separated by one win for the top pick.
However, they could play themselves out of a top-five pick as they enter the easy part of their schedule. The team has a lot of talent to win games. The Browns’ quarterback switch could be the catalyst the team needed to make a push for the playoffs. To celebrate the start of October, I have devised a spooky mock draft that could show Browns fans their future if they miss on a top quarterback prospect. The team will likely need a top quarterback prospect regardless of how well the rookie quarterbacks play. But what could the Browns do if they find themselves out of the range for Fernando Mendoza, LaNorris Sellers, and Dante Moore, assuming those quarterbacks declare?
In this mock draft, we find out what the non-top options at quarterback look like. Francis Mauigoa is one of the best offensive linemen in the country. Mauigoa is a true junior from the Miami Hurricanes. The right tackle is a cumbersome 6-foot-6, 335-pounder. Maugua made a name for himself last year by keeping top draft pick Cam Ward upright all season. This year, Mauigoa is keeping quarterback Carson Beck safe.
The Hurricanes are one of the best teams in college football. Mauigoa plays a crucial role in keeping their trenches clear. Mauigoa is a powerful lineman. He’s a great linear athlete with a squatty frame. He packs a powerful punch and a quick first step. He’s a bulldozer.
A bully who loves to finish plays with a bang. Mauigoa is usually pancaking opponents during the echo of the whistle. Mauigoa is a determined run blocker who can create lanes for his running backs. As a pass blocker, Mauigoa isn’t as skilled. He struggles with pacing and timing his blocks when moving backwards. Mauigoa relies on his strong grip to stonewall pass rushers.
Mauigoa must improve his footwork to succeed at the next level. There are concerns about his agility when protecting the edge of the pocket. Many draft evaluators view Mauigoa as a candidate to move inside to guard. However, Mauigoa is playing some of his best football right now. He’ll have his biggest test of the season on Saturday when the Hurricanes take on their archrivals, the Florida State Seminoles. The Seminoles have a tremendous defensive line group led by defensive tackle draft prospect Darrell Jackson Jr.
Scouts will have a great chance to observe how Mauigoa protects the pocket in the biggest game of his career. The Cleveland Browns lost in humiliating fashion to the New York Jets. The Browns shut down the Jets for the majority of the game. Unfortunately, the Jets scored on three explosive plays. The score would be too much for the Browns to handle. The team now has the inside track on the second pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
The Browns must find a way to pick in the top two selections. The Browns need to find a quarterback in next year’s draft class. The class is fraying, as quarterbacks Dante Moore of Oregon, Fernando Mendoza of Indiana, and Ty Simpson of Alabama will all decide whether to enter the NFL draft or return to college. If the Browns don’t have a top-three pick, then they have a real shot of losing one of these quarterbacks. In the latest 2026 NFL mock draft, the Browns address the quarterback situation while rebuilding their trenches and increasing their talent in the receiving room. The Browns are set up for eight picks inside the first five rounds.
