The Center of Excellence (CoE) Starter Kit is a set of templates that are designed to help develop a strategy for adopting, maintaining and supporting the Power Platform, with a focus on Power Apps... The kit includes multiple Power Apps and Power BI analytics reports to view and interact with the data collected. The kit also provides several assets that provide templates and suggested patterns and practices for implementing CoE efforts. The assets part of the CoE Starter Kit should be seen as a template from which you inherit your individual solution or can serve as inspiration for implementing your own apps and flows.

The CoE Starter Kit GitHub Repo contains the source, releases, issues and backlog items of all components that are part of the CoE Starter Kit. The latest shipped version is available via Releases. From there, you can download the latest version of all managed solutions that have been tested and are ready for use. Stay up to date with our releases by subscribing to them: If you want to learn more about what's in the latest release of the CoE Starter Kit, you can check out our closed Milestones. You'll learn about BI solution architecture in the COE and the different technologies employed. Technologies include Azure, Power BI, and Excel. Together, they can be leveraged to deliver a scalable and data-driven cloud BI platform.

Designing a robust BI platform is somewhat like building a bridge; a bridge that connects transformed and enriched source data to data consumers. The design of such a complex structure requires an engineering mindset, though it can be one of the most creative and rewarding IT architectures you could design. In a large organization, a BI solution architecture can consist of: The platform must support specific demands. Specifically, it must scale and perform to meet the expectations of business services and data consumers. At the same time, it must be secure from the ground up.

And, it must be sufficiently resilient to adapt to change—because it's a certainty that in time new data and subject areas must be brought online. There was an error while loading. You can try changing directories. The Power Platform CoE Starter Kit is a comprehensive reference implementation that demonstrates how to build sophisticated governance, monitoring, and adoption capabilities using Power Platform's native low-code tools. This collection of components and solutions helps you develop a strategy for adopting and supporting Power Platform while showcasing what's possible with the platform's out-of-the-box features. A Center of Excellence (CoE) is a team or entity within an organization that provides leadership, best practices, research, support, and training for a specific focus area—in this case, Power Platform. The Power Platform CoE Starter Kit doesn't represent the entire Center of Excellence or CoE. Managing a CoE requires more than tools.

A CoE needs people, communication, and defined requirements and processes. Tools are a means to an end, and each organization must thoughtfully design its CoE based on its unique needs and goals. This article describes how to transfer data from an on-premises data warehouse to a cloud environment and then use a business intelligence (BI) model to serve the data. You can use this approach as an end goal or as a first step toward full modernization with cloud-based components. This guidance builds on the Microsoft Fabric end-to-end scenario. There are multiple options to extract data from an on-premises SQL server, such as Fabric Data Factory pipelines, mirroring, copy job, and Fabric real-time eventstreams change data capture (CDC) for SQL. After extraction, the data is transformed for analysis. The diagram shows types of input, like data streams, databases, data services, unstructured data, and structured data.

Components in the Ingest phase receive the data input. The Ingest phase components are Azure Event Hubs, Azure IoT Hub, Fabric pipelines, Fabric real-time intelligence (RTI) eventstreams, mirroring, and copy jobs. Fabric OneLake is the primary storage for the Store phase via multiple options such as a Fabric lakehouse, Fabric warehouse, Fabric eventhouse, or mirrored databases. Then the data goes to the process phase for Fabric eventstreams and KQL querysets to process the data in real time, and Spark notebooks, SQL scripts, and Dataflow Gen2 for batch workloads. Some of the machine learning models data goes to the Enrich phase, which includes Azure AI Foundry and Azure Machine Learning. The other data goes to the Serve phase, which includes Power BI, Fabric data agents, and OneLake shortcuts.

The data outputs to business users, analytics, applications, and shared datasets.
