Self-studying mathematics is hard - it's an emotional journey as much as an intellectual one and it's the kind of journey I imagine many people start but then drop off after a few months.

Growing up I always loved puzzles and problem solving. I would spend hours working my way through puzzle books, solving riddles, and generally latching on to anything that gives you that little dopamine hit. Countless math books are published each year, however, only a tiny percentage of these titles are destined to become the kind of classics that are loved the world over by students and mathematicians.
