UC Davis and UC Merced also earned places in the top 20, ranking No. 13 and No. 14 respectively. UC Merced’s steady rise is notable, jumping from No. 59 in 2024 to No. 18 last year and now reaching its highest position yet.

San Jose State University stood out in the California State University system, earning the No. 17 slot. The Bay Area school ranked ahead of Cal State Stanislaus at No. 21, Cal Poly Pomona at No. 22, and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo at No. 28.

San Francisco State University also placed in the top 100, at No. 69.
