Their attempt to become the desert version of the Seattle Seahawks was complete after acquiring Geno Smith and hiring Pete Carroll. However, much like those visitors, the Raiders have nothing to show for it now. They are still residing in last place after the halfway point of the season and look ahead to another offseason with plenty of questions. While Vegas has no real reason to regret the moves, they likely would've been in a better spot with some different decisions. That's in the past now though and the Raiders can look ahead to the future. They are certainly armed with plenty of picks in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft, where they'll continue trying to build the silver-and-black into a contender.

The veteran receiver requested a trade in August due to failed contract negotiations, and even publicly stated in October that he wants to be moved to a new team. Today, just prior to the NFL trade deadline, the Raiders sent Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars. In exchange, they received a fourth round pick and sixth round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Jaguars had two fourth round picks in the next draft, and the Raiders are receiving the higher of the two picks which would currently be the pick they received from Minnesota. Adding those picks to their current draft picks, makes for a good looking haul. *pick is based on Raiders current record after Week 9 **The actual comp picks rounds are projections at this point based on player contracts. Playing time, performance and postseason awards may change those projections, but the overall number of comp picks (two) will remain the same because it's based on total free agent gains vs losses. The Raiders don't have their original fifth round pick because they sent it to Cleveland in the trade to acquire QB Kenny Pickett back in late August. The Las Vegas Raiders entered the trade deadline of the 2025 NFL season with plenty of players to ship off.
They didn't need to completely blow everything up like the New York Jets did by trading Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, but some moves to acquire draft capital were surely in order. However, it was a fairly quiet trade deadline in Las Vegas. They did finally deal Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a pair of Day 3 picks, but other than that, they kept their roster intact and did not make any brash decisions. Thankfully, players like Jackson Powers-Johnson, Michael Mayer, Eric Stokes, Tyree Wilson and Malcolm Koonce are all still Raiders, as their names were floated ahead of the deadline. Maxx Crosby was never going to get traded, despite rumors saying otherwise and other teams wanting him. But after the Meyers trade, we figured it would be a good time to remind Raider Nation what picks the Silver and Black have in the 2026 NFL Draft, and where exactly those selections...

The New York Jets and New Orleans Saints both managed to get their second wins of the year in Week 10, creating an opportunity for Las Vegas to climb closer to the top five...
The Titans currently own the No. 1 overall pick, but because they selected Cam Ward last year, they will look to trade down. The Jets have so many resources to pull the trigger to move up for the top choice. The Jets obviously need a quarterback. Justin Fields had a great Week 1, but completed only three passes against the Bills. Fields has gotten worse ever since, save for the Cincinnati win.
The Jets need to start over, and they can do that with this prospect. Ty Simpson has won some big games and has thrived with his superb ball placement. He’s an intelligent quarterback who throws with great timing and anticipation. Also, if you’d like to support the site, check out my book!
