Wanna Get Waaay Ahead of Your League Mates? Trading future rookie picks feels like a roll of the dice. Will next year be a strong skill position class? Will certain be positions be stronger or weaker? Analysts will spout off about the strengths and weaknesses of a class, but putting it in context of other positions helps predict draft capital. Plus many of those analysts haven't even watched these players.
Next year will mark the 23rd NFL Draft I have scouted and covered. I've been producing seven-round mock drafts and rankings since 2004. Training camp for the 2025-26 NFL season is officially underway, signaling the return of football and the start of roster battles across the league. While plenty will change between now and next April, it’s never too early to look ahead. So, why not dive into a 2026 NFL Mock Draft and get an early sense of which college stars could hear their names called first? There are plenty of college football players who have already shown enough to warrant NFL consideration.
To give you all a look at which prospects to keep an eye on, we predicted every pick based on current evaluations and team needs. The draft order comes from PFSN’s 2026 NFL Mock Draft Simulator, which you can use to create your mocks. There’s no guarantee that Arch Manning will declare for the 2026 NFL Draft. He’s a massive unknown at this stage, having only started in two games. But he has an impressive arm, makes smart decisions in the pocket, reads the field well, and offers better athleticism than either of his famous uncles, Peyton and Eli. Although the Cleveland Browns drafted Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders in 2025, neither came with the kind of draft capital that typically signals a long-term commitment.
If Cleveland finishes with the league’s worst record, they’d be smart to take a swing at a true franchise QB. Adam Peters made the aggressive moves needed to potentially keep the Washington Commanders in the Super Bowl hunt during the offseason. Unfortunately, things have not gone as anyone associated with the franchise expected. It's been one disaster after another for the Commanders at the midseason point. Injuries have decimated the roster. Young players expected to progress haven't lived up to their billing.
The NFL's oldest roster looks exactly that — a massive problem holding the team back right now. Peters opted to stand pat at the 2025 trade deadline. Fans were anticipating a couple of outgoings, given the Commanders' slow start this season. But either no suitable interest arrived, or the offers weren't enough for the front-office leader to remove certain players from the equation. The Commanders will move forward with what they have over the second half of 2025. Even so, it's clear that Peters has an awful lot of hard work ahead when the next offseason arrives to get this ambitious project back on track.
Using the Pro Football Network simulator, we took an early look at how Peters might approach his draft picks in a special seven-round midseason mock. There's a misconception floating around about the 2026 NFL Draft. Before this college season kicked off, Texas' Arch Manning, South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers and LSU's Garrett Nussmeier were widely viewed as the top eligible quarterback prospects. Those three haven't quite met the early expectations, which has some people jumping to the conclusion that this is a "weak" QB class. In reality, the rise of Indiana's Fernando Mendoza (my QB1 back in May), Alabama's Ty Simpson and Oregon's Dante Moore has reshaped the board. All three still have remaining eligibility and could theoretically return to school in 2026, but in today's thought exercise, they come off the board quickly -- just not at No.
1 overall. Four teams enter the first round with multiple picks, while just as many have none. The Browns and Rams dealt away theirs in separate draft-day moves a year ago, and the Jets and Cowboys moved on from Quinnen Williams and Micah Parsons, respectively. To set the stage, here are the current odds to be the No. 1 overall pick (via FanDuel Sportsbook). Reminder: This is the current NFL draft order after Week 10 (via Tankathon).
