The new list puts the College in a tie for the nation’s top public program. Industrial, biomedical, and environmental engineering are each No. 1 in their disciplines. The Georgia Tech College of Engineering reclaimed the No. 3 position among the nation’s undergraduate engineering programs in the latest rankings from U.S. News & World Report.

The College moved up one spot on the 2026 Best Colleges list released Sept. 23. The ranking puts the program at No. 1 among public universities (tied with the University of California, Berkeley). The new list marks the second time in three years the College’s overall programs have ranked third, its best-ever position on the annual list. It’s also the first time three specific engineering disciplines ranked first in a single year:

In Fall 2025, WCU launched a new Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and a new Industrial Engineering Concentration, adding to programs in construction management; electrical, computer, and civil engineering; and related technology...
