2025 Nfl Mock Draft Miller S Early First Round Predictions Espn
The 2025 NFL draft is still more than nine months away, but I’m already digging into tape on the top prospects in the class, including a handful of potential franchise quarterbacks. With NFL training camps on the horizon and the start of the 2024 college football season not far behind, I’m doing an early projection of all 32 first-round picks for next year’s draft. Our draft order for this exercise comes from ESPN’s Football Power Index, which uses thousands of simulations to predict the 2024 NFL season. In turn, that gives us a 1-32 order, starting with the Patriots at No. 1. But would New England hang onto the top pick or trade it away to a QB-needy team?
Spoiler: I projected two trades in this mock draft, including a deal involving the No. 1 selection. Of course, a lot will change before teams are actually on the clock next April. Prospects will rise and fall on draft boards, and some of these players will ultimately return to school for another year. We have an entire season of game tape ahead of us—and I admittedly haven’t watched a ton on everyone just yet. So what follows is just an early look at what could happen based on what I’ve seen, what I’m hearing, what each team might need, and what could make sense.
Let’s jump in. Note: Underclassmen are noted with an asterisk. We might not have a generational talent like Caleb Williams in this class, but there are some really good quarterbacks. And given that the Patriots just used a 2024 top-three pick on Drake Maye, I’d bet they would be listening on trade offers if they were to have the top pick next year. I like the idea of the Giants moving up, and the trade package could look similar to what Carolina sent to Chicago in 2023 when the Panthers slid up to No. 1 from No.
9. I have the Giants dealing their No. 6 pick, a 2025 second-rounder, a 2026 first-rounder, and a 2027 second-rounder to get this done. ESPN released its new 2025 NFL Mock Draft with predictions for all 32 first round picks next spring, including some trades! Since it’s the summer and we’re waiting for football to come back, why not examine a friendly exercise? College football and the NFL will be back soon enough, but we have to see what next year’s draft could look like.
Below is ESPN’s early 2025 NFL Mock Draft, via Matt Miller. We have a trade! Miller projected the Giants to trade with the New England Patriots for the No. 1 overall pick in order to get a franchise quarterback. The Patriots just drafted Drake Maye and the Daniel Jones-New York experiment is over. Beck could win a national title and Heisman Trophy this coming season.
The Tennessee Titans are nearly on the clock at No. 1 to kick off the 2025 NFL draft. It will be the first of 257 total selections across seven rounds from Thursday to Saturday. To prepare you for the draft, here is our guide for everything you need to know -- top prospects, rankings, mock drafts, things to know, bold predictions, buzz and more. How does this year's class stack up historically? Which position will Travis Hunter play in the NFL?
Where will Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart and all the quarterbacks land? Which late-round prospects could rise up the board? We answer all of that and more. But let's start with a basic question -- how to watch the draft this week. The 2025 class is no exception, regardless of position. Likening players entering the league to players already in the league gives a better understanding of what kind of talent a team will get — good or bad. From floor to ceiling, here's looking at Sporting News' first-round projections based on NFL veterans past and present: The Titans are hoping they finally have their second coming off the best QB in franchise history, Steve McNair, as Ward's size, arm strength, and mobility have some recalling their late one-time MVP.
Other big mobile types, such as Ben Roethlisberger and Daunte Culpepper, have been thrown out as Ward comps, but in the modern game, Ward has a high ceiling, to the point he can push... Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado (6-1, 212 pounds) Happy Draft Day, everybody. This is my first and only mock for this cycle, and it's coming just hours before the Titans are officially on the clock. Hey, better late than never. Mocks this time of year are tricky because while it's true that we're as close to a consensus on the first rounders as we're going to get, keeping up with the rumor mill this...
And much of what's being peddled out there is a smoke screen anyway. If you're looking for more draft content, make sure you check out Mario Puig's three-round mock and Joe Bartel's mock draft and NFL draft props. Same deal. This feels like a lock, even if the idea of an Abdul Carter-Myles Garrett tandem is fun to dream on. The Giants might want to move back, but with no quarterbacks worth taking at 3, it's hard to envision them finding a dance partner willing to pay full freight. They'll just have to settle for the best EDGE in the class and the best player available.
Ho hum. I spent time over the past two weeks at the Senior Bowl and Shrine Bowl all-star events, watching top 2025 NFL draft prospects in action. There were some clear risers, including players who could get picked in the first two rounds. So I'm projecting where the best players in the class -- including 22 Senior Bowl participants -- could land with a full mock draft of Rounds 1-2. Yes, there's still a lot of time for changes. The combine later this month will shuffle draft boards, and NFL free agency in March will alter the needs of each team.
Pro days and countless interviews come after that as we count down to Round 1 on April 24. But this is where things stand at the moment. The top 30 picks of the draft order are set, but I based the order for Nos. 31-32 here on my personal prediction for Super Bowl LIX. Let's get to it. Here are my first- and second-round projections for April's draft, including landing spots for the Senior Bowl's top risers, Shrine Bowl standouts and four quarterbacks.

And he starts it with a bang. Miller expects the New York Giants to make an aggressive attempt at resolving their longstanding quarterback conundrum by acquiring the top overall pick from Jacksonville for No.
3 overall plus the Giants’ second- and third-round 2025 draft picks AND a 2026 second-round selection. Without further ado, here’s ESPN’s latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft, according to Miller: Like many around the NFL, Miller projects the NFL legacy — the son of “Primetime” Deion Sanders — standing head and shoulders above the field as the favorite to go No.
1 overall to the Giants (after their big trade with the Jags). The dynamic Shedeur Sanders would be tabbed to replace recently-demoted Daniel Jones as the man in New York, where he would bring a level of star quality to the Big Apple.
