There's always a hefty layer of uncertainty with mock drafts. Not only are teams tight-lipped this time of year, but if they do say something, oftentimes it's an active effort at disinformation. This class specifically is going to be darn near impossible to predict for a number of reasons. The first is because there's so few clear-cut top prospects at their respective positions. The second is because the positions that are deep are positions that theoretically every team could draft, such as defensive line. Finally, it's for the first time in years there's been absolutely no movement of any of the 32 picks in the first round.

The 2025 NFL Draft is shaping up to be one of the most unpredictable in recent memory, and NFL analyst Charles Davis has just added even more intrigue to the conversation. Known for his detailed draft insights and deep connections within the league, Davis has made a shocking projection that could send shockwaves through the NFL. Who will go in the first five picks of this year’s draft is still very much up for debate. The Tennessee Titans hold the first overall selection, followed by the Cleveland Browns at No. 2, the New York Giants at No.

3, the New England Patriots at No. 4, and the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 5. Most experts expect the Titans and Browns to secure the top two quarterback prospects, but Davis’ prediction for the Giants has caught many by surprise. In Davis’ latest mock draft, he predicts the Titans will select Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders first overall, followed by the Browns taking Miami’s Cam Ward at No. 2.

However, rather than following the expected trend and grabbing the best player available, Davis projects the Giants to make a surprising move: selecting Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart at No. 3. While he threw for 4,279 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions last season, his name hasn’t been mentioned in the same breath as Sanders or Ward. If the Giants take him at No.

3, it would be one of the biggest draft surprises in recent years. And it just so happens that the Giants need a boost at both cornerback and wide receiver. Hunter likely won't play both ways full-time in the NFL like he did at Colorado, but he profiles as a legitimate shutdown corner in the pros, and even if he only gets 10-15 snaps... If Ward and Sanders are gone, Hunter would be a heck of a consolation prize. Of course, even if they don't use a first-round pick on a quarterback, New York can't afford not to take any shots at finding their new franchise QB. Jalen Milroe might also be an option here, but his rawness as a pocket passer may scare off John Mara (and whoever is serving as the team's GM and head coach by next spring)...

Dart is rough around the edges himself — just go back and look at Ole Miss' loss to Florida this season — but he's got more than enough arm talent to start in the...
