2025 Nfl Mock Draft Cam Ward At No 1 Leads Final 7 Round Msn
There are just three games left in the NFL season: the conference championship games in the AFC and NFC and Super Bowl 59. Twenty-eight of the 32 NFL franchises are already ahead looking to the offseason. Three of the seven head coaching vacancies and two of the four general manager openings have been filled so far. With the exception of the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles, the focus is already squarely on the 2025 season. That includes hashing out free agency targets and building plans for the 2025 NFL draft. The first 28 picks are set for the first round and here's what experts from USA Today, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Sports Illustrated and the 33rd Team predict will happen on night one of the...
Latest order via Tankathon.com. Picks No. 29-32 will be finalized after the Super Bowl. No trades are included in this mock draft roundup. USA Today: "The Patrick Mahomes comparisons might only ramp up for Ward throughout the pre-draft process given the link to (former Chiefs executive and newly hired Titans general manager) Mike Borgonzi. Though drawing any such parallel is inherently unfair to all involved, it's easy to see why a franchise that's resetting yet again would be drawn to an electric and immensely gifted catalyst behind center...
With the 2025 NFL Draft just around the corner, ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. has released his final mock draft, offering insight into how the top of the board could shake out. Kiper’s latest projection features a strong quarterback class, versatile defenders, and rising stars from both Power Five and Group of Five programs. Here’s a breakdown of Kiper’s projected top 8 picks: 1. Tennessee Titans – QB Cam Ward, Miami Kiper has the Titans taking the dynamic quarterback out of Miami with the first overall pick.
Ward’s arm talent, poise under pressure, and ability to create plays make him the potential face of the franchise for Tennessee as they look to rebuild at the most important position. 2. Cleveland Browns – WR/CB Travis Hunter, Colorado A two-way phenom, Hunter’s rare ability to dominate on both sides of the ball makes him a unique weapon. Kiper projects the Browns capitalizing on that versatility by adding an explosive playmaker who can change the game in all three phases. 3. New York Giants – OLB Abdul Carter, Penn State Carter brings speed, power, and sideline-to-sideline range as a linebacker.
The Giants are in need of a defensive tone-setter, and Carter’s high motor and tackling ability could instantly boost their front seven. The 2025 NFL Draft is shaping up to be one of the most unpredictable in recent memory — starting right at the top. In this mock, the Titans move on from Will Levis by selecting quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick, while the Browns follow by taking Shedeur Sanders, one of the most accurate passers in college football last season. Each pick in this mock draft includes a key stat and the bottom-line scouting summary from PFF’s 2025 NFL Draft Guide, which will be available to PFF+ subscribers in just seven days. With in-depth data, exclusive grades and detailed scouting reports on hundreds of prospects, PFF's draft guide is your ultimate resource for draft season.

Key Stat: Ward ranked in the top two in PFF overall grade, touchdown passes and big-time throws in 2024 among FBS quarterbacks. Cam Ward is the most dynamic, big-game quarterback entering the 2025 NFL Draft hands down. A Heisman Trophy finalist in 2024, Ward’s decision to bypass the 2023 NFL Draft and return to college to play for the Miami Hurricanes was both a blessing for the player and perhaps gold... With a world of confidence and arm talent, Ward showcased his best traits during a season that saw him break school records in passing. He threw for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns in his final and only season at Miami.
As a quarterback with great improvision awareness, Ward is described by NFL Draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah as a talented arm with a high ceiling in the NFL. “He plays a very free-wheeling brand of football. He drifts in his drop, throws from a variety of arm angles and often falls away from the target upon release of the football. He can really power the ball into tight windows, but his aggressive nature can put points on both sides of the scoreboard. He has very quick hands in the RPO game and he can navigate around free rushers by dropping his arm angle. He took the free yards with his legs when voids presented themselves in Miami’s spread attack.”
The Titans have kept things quiet, but they have not signed a veteran quarterback or made a move to trade this pick. Thus, Tennessee’s actions suggest they targeting a quarterback with the first pick. I personally am not high on Cam Ward, but my mock drafts are a projection of what I think teams WILL do and not what they SHOULD do. Hence, I think Tennessee will take Ward at No. 1 overall. In 2024, Ward completed 67 percent of his passes for 4,313 yards with 39 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
He had four rushing touchdowns as well. Ward (6-2, 223) is considered to be a good leader and he has an adequate arm to distribute the ball throughout the field. He is at his best when plays break down, and he makes something happen off-script. Ward holds the ball too long, needs to improve his internal clock, and has some athletic limitations for the NFL. Multiple team sources feel that Ward could be a poor man’s Russell Wilson as a pro quarterback. Ward was a point machine over the previous three seasons at Washington State, generating a prolific number of touchdowns.
He broke out in 2021, completing 65 percent of his passes for 4,638 yards, 47 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. In 2022, Ward completed 64 percent of his passes for 3,231 yards with 23 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Ward then completed 67 percent of his passes in 2023 for 3,735 yards, 25 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also notched eight rushing touchdowns during 2023, which matched the total of his ground scores from the previous three seasons. Ward flirted with transferring to Miami or Florida State before deciding to enter the 2024 NFL Draft, backing out, and completing the transfer to the Hurricanes. It sounds like Cleveland is leaning towards Hunter with the second pick, and he might be a receiver for them.
I think the Browns are enamored with the idea of adding Hunter and then maybe trading back into the first round for Shedeur Sanders. In 2024, Hunter had 96 receptions for 1,258 yards with 15 touchdowns receiving and one rushing. He has 35 tackles with four interceptions, 11 passes broken up, and a forced fumble on defense. Hunter flashed dominant cover ability in 2023 with 31 tackles, three interceptions, and five passes defended before getting injured and missing some time. As a receiver, he provided some big plays to the Buffs’ offense, catching 57 passes for 721 yards and five touchdowns. As we reported in the Hot Press, teams were divided on whether Hunter should be a wide receiver or a cornerback in the NFL.
The consensus was for Hunter to be an every-down cornerback and a rotational gadget receiver. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder possesses other-worldly ball skills with elite athleticism alongside superb instincts and feel. Hunter is not the biggest of players, and teams have some durability concerns with him. However, he projects as a potential No. 1 corner in the NFL. With the Browns, Hunter could be their No.
1 receiver. The Giants take the best player on their board and add an impact player. Carter could form a dynamic pass-rushing trio with Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux. In 2024, Carter had 68 tackles with 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, and four passes broken up. Carter notched 49 tackles, 4.5 sacks, five passes defended, and one interception in 2023. In 2022, he made his presence felt as a freshman with 56 tackles, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and four passes defended.
Carter is extremely fast off the ball, and his rare explosiveness is even more dynamic with his ability to bend off the edge. While Carter (6-3 250) is a dangerous speed rusher off the edge, and he has the versatility to play Sam linebacker as well. Penn State lined him up inside the linebacker and rushed off the edge, so he already had experience moving around the defensive front. After signing Carlton Davis to a big contract, it doesn’t make sense for New England to take a third cornerback, even if Travis Hunter were available. They also signed edge rusher Harold Landry, so even if Carter gets here, they might not take him. They have a much bigger hole at left tackle and need to help second-year quarterback Drake Maye.
Here’s a long-term blindside protector for Maye. Campbell earned the starting left tackle job in training camp as a true freshman in 2022 and started 13 games there. He then held onto the spot as a sophomore in 2023, protecting the blind side of Jayden Daniels. The 6-foot-6, 325-pound Campbell is big and enters the NFL with a lot of experience. Team sources say that Campbell plays well with his hands, has good technique, is big, and strong. However, in 2024 he has had some issues with playing over his toes too often and getting off balance.
Campbell is a safe prospect to be a solid starter at tackle or guard. Jacksonville is keeping things hush-hush, but I think this pick is coming down to Jeanty, Mason Graham, and Kenneth Grant. The Jaguars know that Trevor Lawrence has been trending in the wrong direction. They can go with the best player available and grab Lawrence a difference maker to improve their rushing offense while providing Lawrence with better down-and-distance situations. In 2024, Jeanty averaged 7.0 yards per carry for 2,601 yards with 29 touchdowns and 23 receptions for 138 yards and one touchdown. Jeanty (5-8, 217) has a strong build with explosive speed, athleticism, and incredible instincts as a runner.
In 2023, Jeanty averaged 6.1 yards per carry for 1,347 yards with 14 touchdowns. He was also a tremendous receiving back with 43 receptions for 569 yards and five scores. Jeanty could be a dangerous weapon to lead an NFL rushing attack in the mold of Marshall Faulk or Josh Jacobs.
