2025 Nfl Mock Draft All 32 Teams Address Biggest Need Abdul Carter
The NFL playoffs are just heating up and so are NFL Mock Drafts everywhere. With both the college football season and NFL season headed towards big finales, the 2025 NFL Draft is set to take center stage as top prospects begin their journey to fill team’s biggest needs. Where it be NFL Pro Days or the NFL Combine, all 32 teams will be savoring to get their draft big board’s set. This will be when the scouting reports enter final drafts. This is where trade rumors start swirling as draft capital and which player will go No. 1 overall hit the spotlight.
In this NFL Divisional round edition of NFL Mocks’ 2025 NFL Mock Draft, teams stand pat and select based on their biggest positional needs at the end of their season. If you are a betting man or woman, you can bet on trades impacting the first round of the draft as far as draft position. The big question once the Super Bowl LIX confetti falls will be whether the Tennessee Titans hold onto that No. 1 draft selection. As quarterback needs always tend to dominate the top 10, multiple teams could be clamoring to draft either Miami’s Cameron Ward or Colorado’s Sheduer Sanders. There will be trades, but what if all 32 teams stood pat and drafted strictly based on their top positional need?
The Titans could trade this pick for a massive haul of draft picks to revamp the franchise. But, if they stay pat at No. 1, they get the best quarterback in the draft by selecting Miami’s Cameron Ward. With the success of Jayden Daniels, the Titans will hope to strike gold with their own dual-threat QB. With Tony Pollard at running back and Calvin Ridley at receiver, Ward will have weapons around him in Tennessee. The next point of emphasis for the Titans is to continue to strengthen their offensive line.
Even if they were able to plug a few holes during the free agency cycle, every NFL team still has major needs to address in the 2025 NFL Draft. This preview shares insights into players, coaches, teams, and philosophies with one goal in mind: to get you prepared for the 2025 NFL season by delivering the smartest information in the fastest, most direct... Penn State’s Abdul Carter has long been considered the top prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The standout EDGE defender expects to hear his name called first overall, but Miami (FL)’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders remain in the mix for the No. 1 pick. However, Carter believes he’s the best overall player in the country and deserves to be picked No.1 ahead of Ward and Sanders. The true junior spent his college career at Penn State, solidifying himself as one of the most dominant defensive players in this year’s class. As a freshman, Carter racked up 56 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks while playing a rotational role. His sophomore season saw a slight dip in production as he moved to off-ball linebacker, posting 48 tackles, six tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks, along with an interception.
Carter’s 2024 season was his best yet, earning him Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors and a CSN honorable All-American selection. He led Penn State to the College Football Playoff semifinal, finishing the year with 68 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, and 12 sacks. He also forced two fumbles and broke up four passes, with his tackles for loss leading all of FBS. He is undoubtedly among the best players available in the 2025 class, and he reiterated this at his Pro Day. Explaining why he should be picked No.1 overall, he said: It’s NFL draft week, and we have our first anomaly of 2025.
Right here, in our annual rundown of every team’s needs, we’ll have, as usual, all 32 teams listed. Every one of them has a first-round pick. Back in March, this group of 32 became the first in the common draft era (which dates back to 1967) to enter a new league year with every team having its first-round pick still... Nearly six weeks later, that remains the case. Why? The reasons will tell you plenty about this year’s class.
And last year’s, too … • Generally, there’ll be a point in the first round when teams don’t like what they’re looking at—either before the draft or during it—and will look to move picks into future years. Last year, given the strength of the 2024 class, you had a lot less of that. Six quarterbacks went in the top 12, including three widely seen as worthy of going first overall. That pushed quality players at other positions down, and premium spots such as tackle (Joe Alt, JC Latham, Olu Fashanu) and receiver (Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, Rome Odunze) were stocked. And that led to quality edge rushers (Chop Robinson) and corners (Quinyon Mitchell) going in the 20s.
So, few teams were actively looking to trade 2024 picks for ’25 first-rounders. • The one position that usually moves future first-rounders is, obviously, quarterback. But last year, need very much matched up with how the players came off the board. Of the six QBs to go in the top 12, only J.J. McCarthy was landed as part of a trade up, and the Minnesota Vikings only had to go up one spot—from 11 to 10—to get him. So no 2025 first-rounders were moved as part of deals to get ’24 quarterbacks.
With the Philadelphia Eagles crowned as Super Bowl champions, it’s officially draft season for all 32 NFL teams. Here is our first post-Super Bowl 2025 NFL mock draft, featuring potential trades for a few teams to move up and down the order and acquire some proven talent. The Titans need a quarterback, but the draft shouldn't be about forcing needs — even for a quarterback. Many teams will view Carter as the best football player in this draft. In the same vein as the Titans' blurb, this draft doesn’t have the same quarterback talent as last year, so I don’t think the Browns will force a selection there. If any player will challenge Carter as the top prospect in this class, it's the versatile Hunter, who I view as a full-time cornerback with the ability to play a handful of receiver snaps...
I am all about not passing on better football players to force immediate needs, but mock drafts are also done to predict rather than to copy big board rankings. It feels like the stars are aligning for Sanders to end up in New York, injecting some hope into the Giants' building. New Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel knows how important it is to win in the trenches — and how New England's offensive line last year was one of the worst at doing so. They owe it to quarterback Drake Maye to build a wall of protection in front of their franchise player. Scouts and coaches will love Campbell when we get to the interview portion of the draft cycle, and he’s a technician on tape. Let's make the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft as easy as possible for the 32 teams picking.
The Tennessee Titans own the No. 1 pick in April's draft, and like every other team in the league, they headed into the offseason with particular needs. Some teams have more needs than others. But starting with the Titans and heading all the way down to the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, each team needs something. So in this week's mock draft, The Tennessean is granting every NFL team its biggest wish. Using the parameters below as our guide, we've selected each NFL team's biggest weakness in 2024 that translates into a need for 2025.
Percentage of first downs gained through passes Here's what the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft would look like if teams drafted according to their biggest need. The NFL Scouting Combine is underway from Indianapolis, while trade and free agency rumors are running rampant. Raiders minority owner Tom Brady reportedly met with Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford at a ski resort and the Giants are said to have interest as well. The reality is that the NFL Draft is just a portion of a team's offseason plans. Positional needs will evolve in the coming weeks as free agent deals are signed, so the picture will not come into focus until later in March.
Some of the other big dominoes to fall include the potential trade availability of Deebo Samuel, Cooper Kupp, Jonathan Allen and others. One big piece of news that surfaced Wednesday night is that Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter -- the potential No. 1 overall pick -- has a foot injury that may require surgery. My initial reaction is that it will not hurt his stock significantly, if at all, because it is a potential eight-week recovery, according to Carter's agent, which would have him back on the field... If teams are worried about the injury creating long-term problems, then that will impact his stock. Carter and Colorado athlete Travis Hunter have separated themselves from the rest of the pack atop this draft class.
In today's thought exercise, we take another look at pre-free agency positional needs while also anticipating some of the prospects who could rise into the first round with strong combine performances. With most of the dust settling from the free agency frenzy, teams' roster needs for the 2025 NFL Draft (April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin) are coming into focus. Here's the current order for Round 1, along with the top five needs for each franchise. As the Titans’ search for a franchise quarterback continues, the hunt to find a long-term replacement for Harold Landry off the edge is just beginning. Whoever ends up playing QB for Tennessee would benefit from enhanced weaponry at wide receiver. Cleveland’s quest to find an answer at quarterback starts fresh, with trade acquisition Kenny Pickett fitting best as a backup.
The offensive makeover could use reinforcements for the front line and a new RB1, as well. On defense, pairing Myles Garrett with another stud pass rusher could take the group to a whole new level. The Giants still have to find a long-term solution to their quarterback problem after signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. Beyond completing that mission, they can afford upgrades on the offensive and defensive lines. They really need more playmaking ability on both sides of the ball. Drake Maye impressed in his rookie season despite playing behind what Pro Football Focus categorized as the worst offensive line in the NFL, so it would be fun to see what the young passer...
New England should be all about building a supporting cast for Maye, who would also benefit from better weaponry at the skill positions. Over the last two weeks, all but one of the NFL coaching vacancies has been filled. There are new people in place to lead the New York Jets, Las Vegas Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears, plus some shakeups with coordinators and general managers. That could drastically change how things go in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft. A more clear agenda on either side of the ball from the head coach or background from a general manager could set the tone for the 2025 season, starting with a team's pick in... The 2025 NFL draft class lacks the top-tier talent of last year's record-setting class, but offers lots of depth at key positions including edge rusher, interior defensive line, cornerback, interior offensive line and safety.
