2025 Nfl Draft First Round Grades For All 32 Picks
November 6, 2025, 9:49am EST 479 • By Alex Hoegler The 2025 NFL first round was packed with quarterback drama, surprise risers, and blue-chip defenders expected to become instant cornerstones. Now that we’re halfway through the season, the early returns are finally clear. Some rookies have exceeded expectations and become immediate impact players, while others are still struggling to adjust to the league’s speed and physicality. From breakout stars reshaping their franchises to first-round gambles that haven’t paid off yet, we break down how every 2025 first-round pick has performed so far — and what their trajectory looks like heading... It’s unfair to fully blame Ward for the Tennessee Titans’ struggles.
But like, Caleb Williams and Robert Griffin III had excellent rookie years on horrible teams with textbook coaching malpractice. Ward is barely completing over half his pass attempts, is in danger of finishing with more interceptions than passing touchdowns, and, oh yeah, has his Titans in a spot to potentially pick first overall... The 2025 NFL draft officially started when the Tennessee Titans predictably made Cam Ward the No. 1 pick and their new franchise quarterback. The move has been evident for weeks, but it’s still worth asking whether the Titans made a mistake passing on Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter, the consensus top two prospects in this draft class. That’s the first of many questions we’ll be asking ourselves Thursday night, when The MMQB will be grading every first-round pick, starting with Ward.

The most predictable pick in the NFL draft came to fruition after the Titans announced Ward as their next franchise quarterback. Editor's note: Follow 2025 NFL Draft live updates, grades and analysis. So much for the 2025 NFL draft starting off in a straightforward manner. While many forecasted the first round to unfold with little mystery at the top, it didn't take long for things to get a little crazy in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
After the Titans kicked things off with the widely expected pick of Cam Ward at No. 1 overall, the Jacksonville Jaguars delivered a bombshell with their blockbuster trade with the Cleveland Browns to secure Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. Things didn't settle down from there, with several other teams swinging deals – including the New York Giants moving up for quarterback Jaxson Dart – to nab their desired targets. And after all the action, one of the draft's most notable figures in Shedeur Sanders was left to wait until Friday to learn his landing spot. With the first 32 picks in the book, here's a look back at our grades for every selection: No shenanigans to start off the night.
Though president of football operations Chad Brinker briefly had people wondering whether the Titans would target Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter after saying in January that the team wouldn't pass on a "generational talent,"... While it'd certainly be a stretch to describe Ward as a "generational" prospect – and maybe Tennessee didn't view Hunter or Carter at that level, either – he gives the organization new life and... Now the pressure is on the coach to ensure the dynamic playmaker strikes a balance between attacking downfield and being willing to take what the defense gives him, which he too often eschewed throughout... But with savvy and creativity both inside and out of the pocket, Ward could return the revitalized Titans to relevance in the AFC South in short order. Immediate draft grades provide a foundation for future evaluations. Waiting three years to assess draft classes without accounting for how the decision was viewed at the time usually leads to revisionist history.
These 2025 NFL Draft snap grades reflect the value I think each pick (or set of picks) has, given the slot and the prospect's college film/athleticism scores. Trades, and the capital exchanged (both picks and players), are factored into these grades, too, as they also play a significant part in determining the future of a franchise. The first term is pretty much complete, and it's time to issue report cards to the NFL's 32 first-round freshmen as we say goodbye to September. Obviously, a lot can and will change here, but first impressions are important. Here's a grade for each first-rounder at the four-week mark. .css-1582m2i{margin:0;font:inherit;font-weight:700;}1.
Tennessee Titans QB Cam Ward: C Support has been an issue, as Ward has taken a league-high 17 sacks while dropped passes have also been a factor. And to his credit, he's limited his mistakes. All of that said, his pocket awareness is a problem and his .css-wrcrjw{margin:0;font-size:1.6rem;-webkit-text-decoration:none;text-decoration:none;font-family:Proxima Nova,Proxima Nova Fallback Helvetica,Proxima Nova Fallback Arial;font-weight:700;font-style:normal;letter-spacing:0rem;line-height:1.92rem;color:var(--br--palette-foreground__link__secondary__default-mainChannel);font-size:inherit;overflow-wrap:break-word;white-space:normal;}.css-3nqh9c{-webkit-text-decoration:underline;text-decoration:underline;text-decoration-color:rgba(var(--br--palette-primary-mainChannel) / 0.4);margin:0;font-size:1.6rem;-webkit-text-decoration:none;text-decoration:none;font-family:Proxima Nova,Proxima Nova Fallback Helvetica,Proxima Nova Fallback Arial;font-weight:700;font-style:normal;letter-spacing:0rem;line-height:1.92rem;color:var(--br--palette-foreground__link__secondary__default-mainChannel);font-size:inherit;overflow-wrap:break-word;white-space:normal;}.css-3nqh9c:hover{text-decoration-color:inherit;}.css-lu48cp{margin:0;font:inherit;color:var(--br--palette-primary-main);-webkit-text-decoration:underline;text-decoration:underline;text-decoration-color:rgba(var(--br--palette-primary-mainChannel) / 0.4);margin:0;font-size:1.6rem;-webkit-text-decoration:none;text-decoration:none;font-family:Proxima Nova,Proxima Nova Fallback... Check back right here after each pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft for live grades! The Titans' picking Cam Ward first has been the worst-kept secret of the 2025 NFL Draft. While it's not a shocking choice, it's the right one. Quarterback is the most important position in football, and when you have a chance to draft a franchise signal-caller at No.
1, you have to take it. Ward would have been the sixth or seventh QB taken in the 2024 NFL Draft, but this isn't 2024. Life is all about timing, and this is Ward and the Titans' time to find each other. Tennessee fans would probably prefer Caleb Williams or Arch Manning, but this is what they've got. Ultimately, it's the right pick in the wrong draft, so the Titans get as good a grade as they can get in that situation. The 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin has concluded.
Helluva a turnout from NFL fans. 205,000 on Thursday night! Without further ado, here are my draft grades for all 32 NFL teams: Two of their biggest needs were Defensive Line and Cornerback and they attacked those holes in the first two rounds with Ole Miss DT Walter Nolen and Michigan CB Will Johnson. They didn't however address Wide Receiver. Marvin Harrison Jr.
should continue to grow and develop in year two, and Michael Wilson is a nice piece, but Zay Jones is WR3, so would've liked to see them attack that area in the Draft. Jalon Walker is an outstanding pick at #15. I thought he was a top 10 guy myself. But then to come back into the 1st and give up NEXT YEAR'S 1st is pure lunacy. Especially when you do it for an 245 lbs. pass rusher.
James Pearce Jr. is going to have to be a perennial Pro Bowler for this to ever make sense. Xavier Watts is a decent pick in Round 3, but they also only had one pick after Round 4 and it was in the 7th Round. The Ravens have always been one of the most well run teams in the NFL and that has continued even after longtime GM Ozzie Newsome left with Eric DeCosta. They get Georgia's stud Safety Malaki Starks in Round 1and follow it up with Marshall EDGE Mike Green in Round 2, a player most prognosticators had going in Round 1. Baltimore needed more Corner depth and they took CB Bilhal Kone out of Western Michigan and CB Robert Longerbeam out of Rutgers and both have a legit chance to make the team.
The Ravens also drafted Justin Tucker's replacement in Round 6 with Arizona Kicker Tyler Loop which is an underrated move. How did your favorite team’s first round pick grade out? Ward at 1 feels a little pricey, but that’s the going rate of picking a QB these days. I have some questions about Ward’s consistency with his mechanics and penchant for brainfart plays, but his explosiveness with his arm and feel for big plays should work in the Titans’ offense.
