2 round 2026 nfl mock draft quarterbacks suffer unexpected fall pass

We're still five months away from the 2026 NFL Draft, but it's already clear how many teams will be hoping they can find a new franchise quarterback in this class. Thankfully for those teams, it looks like we'll have a handful of worthy candidates at the top of the board. Indiana's Fernando Mendoza looks like potential No. 1 overall pick material, while Alabama's Ty Simpson continues to rise up the board. Oregon's Dante Moore continues to put together a strong 2025 campaign, and South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers still has the most upside of any of them. Where could they land on draft day?

How could an early run at the position impact the other teams with needs elsewhere? Here's an updated look at how the first two rounds of next year's draft could turn out, using the latest updated NFL Draft order following Week 10 results: The Titans already have their franchise quarterback in 2025 No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward, but they need to improve his supporting cast if they want him to live up to the expectations of that slot. They need tons of help on both sides of the ball, but they should start in the trenches at a premium position. Bain has been one of the most dominant defenders in the nation this season, and would give them a much-needed game-wrecker off the edge.

Believe it or not, we’re already halfway through the 2025 NFL season. That means, with the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday (November 4), we’re fully entering 2026 NFL Draft season. Even though we here at NFL Spin Zone have been in 2026 NFL Draft mode since the Spring, but that’s neither here nor there. Now, we have actual on-field results to react to, and needs are becoming clearer every single week for even some of the best teams in the league. In this 2026 NFL Mock Draft, we’re going to take a look at not only the first round but the first two rounds of the draft and project where some of the top prospects... This 2026 NFL mock draft features a bunch of quarterbacks going within the top 20 picks, and a surprise player jumping all the way into the top two overall.

We’ve got a lot to unpack, so let’s get right to it. There is no question that the New Orleans Saints are on the cusp of anointing a new franchise quarterback. We’ve already seen them bench Spencer Rattler in favor of second-round rookie Tyler Shough, and obviously, that’s the first step toward potentially using next year’s top pick at the position. We’ll see what Shough can do for the rest of this season, but barring something miraculous, the top pick should be a new QB. And Fernando Mendoza has been exactly as advertised this season. One of the hottest risers in the 2026 NFL Draft process right now is Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson, who went from being an intriguing potential Day 2 selection to the betting favorite as the...

There’s obviously plenty of competition for the QB1 distinction at this point in the process, but Simpson has done his part to make a case this season, and the Jets need a fresh start... The Justin Fields investment did not work out. NFL Week 10 action featured plenty of surprising results that shook up the projected order of the 2026 NFL Draft. The New Orleans Saints entered the weekend in place for the No. 1 pick but thoroughly beat NFC South foe Carolina to drop from the top spot. The New York Jets got win No.

2 of the Aaron Glenn era over the Cleveland Browns, dropping down the order as well. Their neighbors, the New York Giants, squandered a lead and lost to the Chicago Bears to overtake them in the top three of the draft order. The Giants fired Brian Daboll following the loss - making it more likely they'll stay near the top of the draft order. Those results leave Tennessee at the No. 1 pick after 10 weeks of NFL games. Tennessee already has a quarterback of the future and could be the first team to draft No.

1 overall in consecutive years since fellow AFC South franchise Jacksonville did so in 2021 and 2022. They'll likely take their top non-quarterback prospect in the class. Who that player is is up for debate but most likely a defensive player. Nearly at the end of October and through to November, what does the current NFL Draft board look like? This 2026 NFL Mock Draft explores the current draft order, the opportunities specific teams will have, and the prospects rising fast. It’s a close three-man race, but Fernando Mendoza is my current QB1 in the 2026 NFL Draft, and a prospect truly worthy of the first overall pick.

Mendoza has the prototypical size, athleticism, and arm talent at 6’5″, 225 pounds, but it’s his anticipatory feel, resilient poise, efficient operation, and unflinching accuracy that sets him apart. Dante Moore is a close second-place on my current 2026 NFL Draft board, but the 6’3″, 208-pound passer is in the QB1 mix, and for a Dolphins team likely nearing a QB reset, he... Carnell Tate didn’t do much as a freshman, but the tall receiver had a breakout sophomore campaign.

There's a misconception floating around about the 2026 NFL Draft. Before this college season kicked off, Texas' Arch Manning, South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers and LSU's Garrett Nussmeier were widely viewed as the top eligible quarterback prospects. Those three haven't quite met the early expectations, which has some people jumping to the conclusion that this is a "weak" QB class. In reality, the rise of Indiana's Fernando Mendoza (my QB1 back in May), Alabama's Ty Simpson and Oregon's Dante Moore has reshaped the board. All three still have remaining eligibility and could theoretically return to school in 2026, but in today's thought exercise, they come off the board quickly -- just not at No. 1 overall.

Four teams enter the first round with multiple picks, while just as many have none. The Browns and Rams dealt away theirs in separate draft-day moves a year ago, and the Jets and Cowboys moved on from Quinnen Williams and Micah Parsons, respectively. To set the stage, here are the current odds to be the No. 1 overall pick (via FanDuel Sportsbook). Reminder: This is the current NFL draft order after Week 10 (via Tankathon).
