HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - One person is hurt after a car hit a tree during a Horry County crash Friday morning. Horry County Fire Rescue responded just after 7:10 a.m. to the area of Highway 90 and Yawnoc Drive for the crash. EMS took the victim to the hospital. Drivers are asked to avoid the area. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

The crash involved a 2008 Honda Accord that was traveling north on Cedar Branch Road, near Turkey Hollow Road at around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. That’s approximately eight miles north of North Myrtle Beach.

The car, carrying four people, ran off the road and struck a ditch before hitting a tree, a news release said. One person in the car died and three were taken to an area hospital, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
