This special tradition, now in its 35th year, honors the unwavering commitment of our educators and staff to our mission and students. Congratulations, and deep gratitude to these incredible members of our academic community for the impact they make every day! A heartfelt thank you to the Parents' Association for your partnership in recognizing our Years of Service recipients and for hosting a wonderful lunch to celebrate our honorees. Perhaps her most enduring impact is Marsha’s legacy as an advisor. “Ms.

N-G” as she is known was THE advisor that every student wanted! Students would literally calculate how many spots her advisory would have each year to estimate the odds they would be lucky enough to get in. When you ask Marsha’s advisees what they valued the most about her mentorship they all recount her remarkable patience, her willingness to listen without judgement, and her very practical world advice." McKensy PhillipsMiddle School Physical Education Art's ability to weave life lessons into his daily instruction is something that only can be described as masterful, life altering, and one of his greatest qualities. His care for his students’ life-skill development is undebatable.

A post shared by Charlotte Country Day (@charlottecountrydayschool) Want to learn more about our Upper School? Parents and students in grades 9–12 are invited to join us at an Admissions Open House: 🗓️ Thursday, November 6, 2025 ⏰ 1:30 PM 📍 Cannon Campus — 1440 Carmel Road It’s no surprise that our exchanges with sister schools in Canada, Peru, and the United Kingdom create opportunities for Country Day Middle School students to immerse themselves in another culture and make connections with...

What you may not know is that these experiences often lead to long-lasting relationships that include the whole family. The Office of International Studies shares that this past summer the Coley and Buford families connected with the families of children they hosted. In January 2025, Katherine and Cliff Coley, along with their two Middle School sons, hosted Andres R. for a week. He was visiting North Carolina and Country Day with his school group from Colegio Prescott, our sister school in Arequipa, Peru. This past summer, the Coley family took advantage of a family vacation to visit Andres and his family in his hometown of Arequipa.

Both families had the opportunity to meet each other, the Coley boys spent some time at Colegio Prescott, and the family discovered Arequipa and Cusco. Junior Whitney Buford participated in the King Edward School exchange to Southampton, England, when she was in eighth grade. She and her buddy, Izzy, made an instant connection and they continue to talk almost daily. This summer Izzy visited Charlotte and the Bufords again, this time bringing her family. Here is a reflection written together by Whitney and Izzy: We are delighted to welcome an exceptional group of educators who are joining us for the 2025–26 school year.

Together, they bring a wealth of experience, fresh perspectives, and a shared commitment to inspiring and supporting our students. Please join us in giving each of them a warm Country Day welcome! Alexandra Eliasek ’21 – Alexandra joins us as a Fourth Grade Assistant Teacher. A recent graduate of Wake Forest University, she earned a BA in both Elementary Education and Music. Alexandra is a familiar face to many students, having worked in our Summer Programs for many years. She is also a proud Country Day alumna.

Mandy Jordan – Mandy will serve as a Second Grade Assistant Teacher. She brings 15 years of teaching experience, including six years in CMS schools, nine years at First Presbyterian Weekday School, and most recently at Trinity Presbyterian Weekday School. Mandy earned her BA from the University of South Carolina and her MA from UNC Charlotte. Sarah Pritzker – Sarah joins us as a Kindergarten Assistant Teacher. She comes from Charlotte Jewish Preschool, where she spent four years as a 3’s Lead Teacher. Previously, she was a lead kindergarten teacher in CMS and has also taught junior kindergarten, kindergarten, and second grade in Orlando, Florida.

A graduate of Rollins College, Sarah is currently pursuing her master’s degree at Tulane University. On behalf of the Advancement Team, we are pleased to share that we have reached our goal for the 2024–25 Country Day Fund. This exciting milestone reflects the unwavering support of our incredible Country Day community – parents, alumni, faculty, staff, grandparents, and friends – who continue to show up for our school in meaningful ways. In addition to our generous donors, we extend gratitude to our incredible 2024–25 Country Day Fund Chairs Katie and John Scott Trotter '95 and the following key alumni and parent volunteers: Hayes Ashcraft '06,... Reaching this year’s goal has a powerful and lasting impact across our school: This achievement is the result of a truly collective effort.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helped move us forward. We are deeply grateful for the generosity and dedication of each and every donor who made this possible. Your commitment fuels our mission and empowers Charlotte Country Day School to continue delivering extraordinary educational experiences. Together, we are shaping bright futures and a stronger community.
