WETA's ongoing commitment to education is realized through national services that focus on making learning available to all. Over the last decade, WETA and PBS NewsHour have created and sustained the following award-winning multimedia services for parents, teachers and other education professionals. AdLit.org is a national multimedia project from WETA that offers resources for parents and educators of struggling readers and writers in grades 6-12. BrainLine.org is a national multimedia project from WETA that provides information and resources on preventing, treating, and living with traumatic brain injury. ColorinColorado.org is an award-winning bilingual website for parents and educators of English language learners. NEA has teamed up with PBS station WETA to offer a variety of resources to help educators and families work collaboratively to ensure student success, both at school and at home.

Reading Rockets is an award-winning national education project offered by WETA, the PBS station in Washington, DC. They also produce LD OnLine (about teaching kids with LD), AdLit.org (all about adolescent literacy), Colorín Colorado (for parents and teachers of English language learners), and Start With A Book (about summer learning). We've assembled a variety of resources focusing on online educational options, parenting advice for these unprecedented times, and some recommendations for movies, games and other entertainment options. Parents and educators have lots of questions about television and children. Are our children watching too much television? How does TV viewing affect children’s learning and development?

Grace Lin is the author and illustrator of more than 20 books for kids — from picture books to young adult novels. Most of her books are about the Asian-American experience, yet their themes are often universal. “Books erase bias, they make the uncommon everyday, and the mundane exotic. A book makes all cultures universal.” In this Reading Rockets interview, Caldecott Medal-winning author and illustrator Michaela Goade talks about her creative process, the inspiration behind some of her illustrations, and the importance of looking for diversity within Native stories. Michaela is an enrolled member of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska.
