We offer multiple endorsement options that can be added to your teaching certificate. We are determined to help you expand your horizons by providing you with information for an add-on certification endorsement. If you are a currently an undergraduate teacher candidate seeking certification, you may be eligible for an add-on certification endorsement. The requirements for the add-on certification endorsement will vary depending on your current certification area. All candidates who already have an initial teacher certification but would like to pursue an add-on certification must apply and be admitted to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette prior to scheduling courses. When completing the university admissions application, a candidate should apply as an "undergraduate non-degree seeking" student.

The field of study on the admissions application should be "Add Certification in Education." Candidates who are enrolled in the Teacher Preparation Program seeking initial teacher certification or students who already have an initial certification can pursue an add-on certification endorsement in the following areas: Candidates who hold a Master’s degree can obtain an add-on certification endorsement in the following areas: Learn more about information about add-on certification endorsements and Ancillary teaching certificates by visiting Teach Louisiana-Certification. To gain a Teaching Certificate all teacher candidates must complete a teacher preparation program. Woodring offers programs for Elementary, Secondary, and Special Education areas.

An endorsement is the subject area and grade level you are qualified to teach. Elementary Education is an endorsement. Endorsements are listed on your teaching certificate. All certificates have at least one endorsement. Students completing a Secondary Education program will complete the majority of courses in their endorsement (subject) area before starting their teacher preparation program. For the CS BAE, students are allowed to apply after they've accomplished a C- or above in CSCI 141 and CSCI 145.

For Post-Baccalaureate or MIT interested students, be prepared to provide unofficial transcripts, course descriptions if not a WWU graduate, and your contact information. Provide unofficial transcripts, course descriptions relevant to your endorsement required courses, and your contact information to the appropriate endorsement advisor. This endorsement prepares licensed teachers and teacher candidates to also teach English Language Learners at the K-12 level.

The online Certificate in Teaching English Learners program prepares you to face the challenges and opportunities of teaching these students by enhancing your knowledge of language development, cultural factors, ethics and linguistic diversity issues. This certificate is approved by the Indiana Department of Education for adding the English Learners content area to your existing Indiana teaching license. The program is approved by the Ohio Department of Higher Education as leading to the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) K-12 endorsement. This endorsement program equips candidates with the knowledge and skills to appreciate and effectively teach diverse learners. When courses are open for registration, they will be linked below. *For the Bilingual Education Endorsement: If students wish to obtain Bilingual Ed Endorsement through SPU, ELT 5547 Foundations of Bilingual Education (3) is also required as well as a demonstrated proficiency in a targeted... Step 1: Office of Teacher Certification, Endorsement-Only Application This form enrolls you in the teacher certification endorsement system.
