ET on NFL Network, ESPN, and ABC. The obvious favorite to be the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft, the AI prediction didn't stray from consensus by electing to have the Titans select Miami QB Cam Ward. Ward is viewed as the only clear first-round quarterback this year and fills a massive need for Tennessee and head coach Brian Callahan under center. Artificial intelligence is the latest modern technological craze in 2025. But how well can it predict something like the results of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft?
USA TODAY Sports tested the mettle of four different AI chatbots – Microsoft Copilot, Meta AI, Grok and ChatGPT – by tasking each with making a mock draft prediction for Round 1 of this... Human writers were on hand for each chatbot's attempt to ensure that each pick was a plausible one – attempts to select a non-draft eligible player or a player drafted in previous years were... Each pick also featured some justification from the AI, and our writers picked apart the chatbots' analysis in each story. The NFL Draft is one of the biggest nights of the year for football fans and teams alike, as commissioners prepare to improve their squads for the 2025 season. I’m a huge NFL fan, and have been ever since I lived in the US in my early 20s. That said, I’ve never really paid much attention to the NFL Draft, despite its importance. This year, I’ve decided to educate myself on the top prospects beyond my favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles, and I’ve turned to AI to try and help me understand where and when each college...
I previously attempted to predict the March Madness bracket using ChatGPT, and you guessed it, ChatGPT failed despite getting the final four correct. This time, I’ve decided to pit ChatGPT Deep Research against some competition in the form of Gemini Deep Research and Manus AI. The 2025 NFL Draft conversation is heavily revolving around tech. AI-generated mock drafts, including ones powered by Google’s Gemini and OpenAI’s ChatGPT, have drawn attention for some unusual picks. Some projections are interesting, but could work well if the circumstances play out. Let’s discuss them below.
According to some bold AI-driven mock drafts, the Tennessee Titans might snag Cam Ward, the dynamic quarterback out of the University of Miami. He stands 6-foot-2, weighing 223 pounds, and lit up the 2024 season with 39 touchdowns and 4,313 passing yards before winning the Davey O'Brien Award and ACC Player of the Year. Travis Hunter could end up being the biggest headline of the draft if Cleveland makes a daring move at No. 2 overall. After a sensational 2024 season at Colorado—snagging the Heisman, Biletnikoff, and Bednarik Awards—Hunter's insane two-way ability has teams dreaming. His 96 receptions, 1,258 yards, 15 touchdowns, plus four picks on defense, bring rare power to both sides of the ball.
The New York Giants could be circling Abdul Carter as their next defensive game-changer at No. 3. Following a season of pure chaos at Penn State, where he racked up 12 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss, Carter's move from linebacker to edge rusher could not have looked smoother. Some are already throwing around Micah Parsons's comparisons. Will Campbell looks ready to bulldoze his way into New England, with draft chatter pointing to the Patriots grabbing the LSU giant at No. 4 overall.
At 6-foot-6 and 319 pounds, Campbell is a human wrecking ball who wowed scouts by squatting 616 pounds—enough to catch Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's attention. The world of sports is rapidly evolving, and technology is at the forefront of this revolution. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a pivotal force in sports analytics, particularly in forecasting events like the NFL Draft. The 2025 NFL Draft is already generating buzz among fans and analysts alike, and for good reason. The ability to accurately predict the outcomes of such a high-stakes event can drastically influence team strategies and player careers.
In this article, we will delve into how advanced AI models—namely ChatGPT, Gemini, and Manus—are being employed to predict the draft outcomes and what their methodologies reveal about the future of sports analytics. AI models have the capacity to analyze immense volumes of data, from player statistics to team needs. By employing machine learning techniques, these systems can identify patterns and trends that may not be apparent to most analysts or fans. In the 2025 NFL Draft context, AI can visualize potential player selections based on team requirements, past performance metrics, and even scouting reports that provide insights into player skill sets. This examination goes beyond simply making predictions; it explores the intricate algorithms that power these predictions, as well as the historical data used to train these models. Understanding how AI processes and synthesizes information is crucial for anyone interested in the future of sports analytics and decision-making.
Let's take a closer look at the three AI models that have been developing their predictions for the upcoming NFL Draft: ChatGPT, Gemini, and Manus. Each of these systems has its approach and methodology, contributing to a variety of predictions based on data-driven insights rather than emotional bias or intuition. ChatGPT utilizes a natural language processing (NLP) technique to analyze conversations, articles, and historical data concerning the NFL and its players. This model is particularly adept at summarizing findings and dynamically responding to queries about different player profiles and team strategies. Through its extensive training on vast datasets, ChatGPT can offer insights into potential draft prospects likely to excel under particular coaching staff or organizational philosophies. Welcome to the final edition of my 2025 NFL Draft mock draft.
We’re in the home stretch now, so ignore the silly season rumors and isolate the signal amongst the noise. This mock will also be strongly adhering to my Random Forest machine learning model that projects the estimated pick number for each prospect. This model is team agnostic, so we’re going to use team needs, odds, and rumors to make the final connections within the range of the model. Also, be sure to check out our entire 2025 NFL Draft Guide. Barring a surprise trade, I believe this is locked in as well. Current #2 pick odds are sitting at -900 for Travis Hunter, with +550 for Adbul Carter.
The Giants have lots of holes to fill, so they will just take the best player on the board in Abdul Carter. Carter posted 13 sacks and 43 hurries for Penn State this past season, which showcased his twitchy and explosive pass-rushing prowess. Man vs. Machine. A societal battle with a 2025 NFL Draft twist. Welcome to the inaugural "Expert vs.
Artificial Intelligence" mock draft in USA TODAY – and perhaps world – history. My opponent this year, Microsoft Copilot, put together a valiant effort. As the selections roll in Thursday night from Green Bay, Wisconsin during the first round, I’ll vigorously be comparing the results in hopes of emerging victorious. For the purposes of this exercise, my colleague Jacob Camenker supplied the AI bot with parameters and provided his explanation-slash-translation of the picks. I offered a "modified" first-round mock that, to be honest, feels anything but "expert." I also commented on Copilot’s selection. To keep things simple, trades were not permitted.
Thus, I had just one quarterback going in the first round. My apologies to Shedeur Sanders, who will almost certainly hear his name called Thursday but won’t appear below. So far, so good for Copilot, as Ward is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick. The chatbot highlighted his "arm talent and mobility" as reasons the Titans would be interested in making him their "quarterback of the future." – Jacob Camenker Daniel Flick’s predictions: Mock draft 1.0 | Mock draft 2.0 | Mock draft 3.0 | Mock draft 4.0 | Mock draft 5.0 | Mock draft 6.0 | On SI Mock draft 1.0 | On...
NFL free agency isn’t over yet. But most of the headliners, save for a few big-name quarterbacks and older receivers, are off the market. Pro days are underway and teams are hosting prospects for visits—in other words, the 2025 NFL draft is well within reach. Before the draft begins April 24 in Green Bay, Wis., teams will spend the next month rounding out their scouting reports on players and finalizing their big board. With the early waves of free agency in the rearview mirror, team needs are clearer, as are potential targets. Get the latest updates delivered to your inbox every day, and stay up-to-date for free 🧠📈
